Not a question- just surprised I dont see more buzz about this guy. Huge pick early on and getting all kinds of props from writers on this site. I know people may have cut bait when he was demoted- but hes back and Im starting to think hes arrived. Yes its an early an small window but we all knew this guy had the leadership, all around skills and not too mention scoring acumen to become Colorados best defender. Im not sure hes there yet- but now might be the last chance you have to add him free/cheap.
5 points in his last 4. 6 in his last 7. 2 goals. Averaging right around 20 minutes a game (on the incline) with an even rating in that span. Not too mention comments like this from your coach: Originally called up from AHL Lake Erie as an injury fill-in, Shattenkirk enjoyed another strong game Saturday, registering two assists during a 4-3 shootout win over Dallas, and his 24:20 of ice time was second only to defensive partner Scott Hannan. The rookie's play has contributed to coach Joe Sacco playing him over veterans such as Kyle Quincey, who was a healthy scratch, with fellow rookie Jonas Holos also being relegated to the bench. "[Shattenkrik] played real well [Saturday] again," Sacco said. "I like his overall game. Right now, he's certainly forcing my hand to keep him in the lineup, but that's what a player is supposed to do." Shattenkirk doesn't look like he's going anywhere soon, making him a solid pickup in most fantasy formats. CBS- Nov 23. The one knock on him might be that he isnt shooting the puck a whole lot- 14 sog in 10 games, but one would think that will come with time when dealing with a young blueliner. Could be an exciting pickup...

I personally haven't mentioned him on this site because I dropped him a couple of games before he was called up. Someone else grabbed him off waivers and since then he has done what you mentioned, which (incidentally) would have made him my most productive dman if he were still on my roster.
So, as you can see, I refuse to talk glowingly about him because the whole situation makes me want to vomit in my mouth. BTW, I picked up Burns, who has been decent. And neither Shatts nor Burns would be keepers for me at the end of the season anyway. Still makes me sick, though.

Does he stay in the lineup now? I have him on my farm and would love to call him up but I can't send him back down after that. Maybe I should try to move him first as his farm value is much greater than his roster value atm....

How in the world could Sacco take him out? He has been very good all around and is producing regularly.

I really don't know what they are going to do with him. Once Hannan and Cumiskey are back in the lineup, they'd have 8 dmen. Six of those 8 have a one-way contract. Shattenkirk has a two-way deal and I think Holos (could be wrong, though) is the other. I don't know if they want to keep 8 dmen in the lineup. Maybe they keep 7 and send down Holos, but I doubt that. And even if they did that, they'd have to put the extra dman in the press box. It makes no sense for Shattenkirk to sit in the press box, so would they actually send Holos down and then put someone else in the press box so that Shattenkirk can play? I guess that is possible, but I just have a feeling that once Cumiskey and Hannan are healthy, Shattenkirk will be sent back to the AHL.

I had no idea it wassologjammed- I thought he'd be a fixture there for sure from here on out. Hmmm- wierd situation.
Ferreiro is pretty sure that assist is going to be changed over to a goal. it certainly looks like it was all Shatts- not really much evidence Duchene touched it all on the replay. Either way- he looked good on the play- faked a slapper, then pretty much faked a wrap around and jammed it home. Great to see- having a strong game in general.
