I personally think Spezza deserves a higher seed, he could definitely take out some others still in the tournament, he just ran into Giroux. This year Spezza has shown that he can put up some points (4pts back of Giroux!).

For whatever reason the selection committee just didn't love what he was doing. Keep in mind he's a perennial disappointment with regard to injuries. I can only speak for my own votes but I think that the selection committee was simply tired of seeing him waste chances so they gave some young blood the higher seed. If Spezza is legit he'll find a way to overcome. And hey, there's always next year.

Giroux of course is the choice but I agree Spezza could have taken out a few of the top 5 seeds easily imo...
