I'd like to apologize for Justin Schultz not getting poolies any points last night. I accidently traded for him two days ago, and like most of my trades, he doesn't get a point afterwards.

Rest assured, if I ever trade him away, he'll go back to being a bona fide point-getter. But in the meantime, you may be a little screwed.

Now it is clear that most agree that Schultz is already a strong candidate for Rookie of the year but what about the Norris trophy?

Karlson won the Norris last year with his awesome scoring production. It looks like Schultz can match those kind of numbers if he can avoid injury.

Okay lets hear what the nay sayers have to say
Zero points in his last four games. So much for the hype after four games.

I think no points in the last 4-5 games is the opposite end of the spectrum of the ppg guy we saw for 3 games earlier on. I think 40 points pace is exceptional for a rookie defenceman. He's still on about 60pt/82gm pace, which is still fairly high. I dont think he'll end up with more than 22 points. That would be a .5 ppg pace and missing 3 games due to various injury/illness.

He's a good prospect no doubt, but he is still only a prospect defenceman, who is a rookie.

From the few games I've seen, I'm very impressed. He reminds me Niedermayer - similar (lack of) size. He makes everything look easy. It looks like he can play 30 minutes a game if the coach wanted him to. I expected him to have some trouble against the big SJ forwards but he was smooth as silk. He's in the middle of the offense at even strength and the top PP. He's going to get a lot of points for a long time.

Schultz is dynamite. His reads are solid and he has a good bit of riverboat gambler in him too. When the Oil machine gets cranking he will be a lock for 50-65.

He ended with 27. Very very respectable.

This kid has lots of poise! Love him (in points only leagues)
