All seems quiet on the EDM front. I know that more than anything, patience needs to be exercised. These are some very young kids, put in some very foreign situations, both physically AND mentally. Talent won't be a problem up north for quite some time. That being noted, is the cup too full? Yea, they played well against all the kids early on, & yes, they will develop some chemistry simply through repitition, but to what end? I think Schultz was an obvious bonus, but to "upgrade" (term used qutie loosely here) from Ryan Whitney to whatever may be available, seems pretty distant. They have a bounty of talent up front, one has to be inclined to think that these kids might actually be auditiong for their long term positions. SOmething has to give, right? Smid & the other Schultz aren't the answer. We thought we'd seen enough of Whitney to know what to expect, but, he proved us quite wrong (bitter former owner, that's all)!! Who moves? I'm not up to snuff on exact term deals in Eberle & Hall's new contracts, with regard to NTCs but the ryan guy & Nail aren't going to go down in price anytime soon. So, one can assume that one of those 2 is getting a contract with no trading clause, or a clause that deactivates after a season. It would appear that owners are trying to roll back salaries & therefore, in order to build winners, you're going to need team players, guys willing to do more for less. With all that #1-ness in EDM, are they lost in themselves? To much greatness & expectation? It would almost make them appear to be a pampered bunch, incapable of adversity. Single minded on each shift their whole life & now the multi-task is catching up to them? Closing speed a bit too much to track? One too many "skills" camps & not enough weight room? All speed & no breaks? What do you think their next move is, as an organization? - Captain Krunch

That article totally underestimates Perry's talent. He creates a LOT of room for his linemates as he attracts most of the attention from a defensive standpoint. Put him with other guys that can back up the D and he can be 90+ pts. Especially on a PP with good pt men. - DuklaNation

Dak - I do it all the time. Write these up late at night on the West Coast, and update in the AM. I do confuse myself sometimes though! - angus

"Five points last night to extend his lead in the NHL scoring race."

Doesn't it feel weird to write in the past tense when it is still the night you refer to as last night? :D

Lots of crazy action this week. A couple of offense league records are getting broken in my dynasty league this week. Rinaldo came through with a 14 PIM, 3 block, 5 hit night and those PIM were crucial for me. Nice! - Dakkster

Center Ice

"somehow this game wasn't on my Centre Ice package..."

Yeah, they seem to have a really funky definition of something being broadcast in my area.

I was tryin' to watch the Penguins and Toronto yesterday, and they blacked it out for everyone in both the U.S. and Canada saying it was being broadcast nationally--but they meant they're broadcasting it on the NHL Network, which doesn't even show up on TV Guide.

It seems like a ploy to get people to call their cable company and ask them to start carrying the NHL network--but I can't help feeling like I'm getting ripped off having paid for Center Ice so I could see all the games that aren't on TV...and then not being able to watch them because they're being broadcast on the NHL channel, which I couldn't subscribe to even if I wanted to! - kshultz
