While Widmean is paid like a top pairing D-man, his defensive misgivings suggest otherwise (watch the final couple minutes of the Flames-Avs game from Jan 31st). Its not that he didnt deserve it, but there are far worse players in the league who have done a lot worse and avoided suspensions, so they dont have a "history" so to say.
