The Kreider goal was a sweet roof shot against a very on his game marty who had robbed a goal or two earlier in the game. While CK might use some AHL to improve his overall game, his speed and shot do not need any more work and are clearly NHL ready.

I think expecting Rick Nash to simply fold into a Rangers system without some adjustment time nor training camp strikes me as bitter grapes to some degree. Recently he has been taking the puck to the net with authority and I think its only a question of time before he pops 50 in NY.

JT Miller looked very impressive. He played within his game, took the body, made the right pass and got back to even numbers on Devils breakouts. NYR fans are going to love this guy when he arrives full time on the garden ice sometime relatively soon.

But the real news out of Rangersland was that Dan Girardi didn't dress for the Devils game. The report was he was "banged up". This is from a guy who has missed something like 2 games in the last 5 seasons. - donpaulo

@rtstr

100%. That was bush-league BS from the fans. There's been a lot of bad blood between these two teams over the years but cheering a puck to the face is ridiculous.

As for Tavares's playing time, in the games in which he played 23+ minutes, the Isles were down a goal or two late in the 3rd period and Tavares barely leaves the ice when the Isles are trailing late in a close game. Thus, the correlation is more with the Isles not having to try to make a comeback late in games in which JT has registered at least one point (which makes more sense). - Isle B.

Nash has had fabulous chances last night and season for that matter, just hasn't buried or good goaltending. He will put it together, esp. with those linemates. - jimywho1

I'll still bet that Nash gets rolling.

NYR's first 9 games: BOS/PIT/BOS/PHI/TOR/PHI/PIT/TB/NJ.
Some tough games in there? You bet.

The Rangers have also only potted three goals in 35 changes, which puts them _____?
Yup, last in the NHL. Nash, Gaborik, B.Richards, Del Zotto all have just 1 PPP.
http://espn.go.com/nhl/statistics/team/_/stat/special-teams/sort/powerPlayGoals

PP will get better.
Schedule will get easier.

When Nash goes boom, I'll come back to remind you! ;) - Pengwin7

How about the Islander fans cheering and chanting when Crosby skates off with a bloodied face?

Pathetic. - rtstr

Look at it a little closer. Pens spent significant time on the pk. At work, so i cant look now, but i bet malkin/neals toi werent too great either. - Teh Doktor

Great write up today Dobber. Chaulked full of stuff.

Rick Nash, it was always the lack of quality linemates in CBJ right? LOL! Whatever.

I still say Elliot is a weak goalie playing in a solid system and that shows on nights like last night. - Axeman33
