Hey ZamboniNation,

I am a huge Miller fan (no relation!) and headed into this season thinking he could put up Vezina-worthy numbers. Nothing has changed that after his first 4 games. In 09/10 he had 41 Wins, 2.22 GAA and 0.929 SV%. He is THAT good!

Carlson is more a product of the way the Caps are employing him. He gets the 2nd most Avg TOI on the Caps, but only the 9th most PPTOI, behind Joel Ward and Wojtek Wolski!! The problem is really that he is much better defensively than most (if not all) of his co-workers, which means that he gets the most SH TOI on the team - UGH! Last year, he put up 32 points and had 37 the year before that. In his only AHL season, he scored 39 points in only 48 games. He is LEGIT, but will need more PPTOI before he becomes studly in most fantasy leagues. - Russ Miller

Ryan Miller - Potential Vezina winner?

John Carlson - capital coaching carousel casuality or non-relevant offensive fantasy force? - ZamboniNation

rufio.85, Backstrom's talent is beyond question. He's suffering the same fate as the entire Washington offense/team. I have worried about the headaches (migranes, not concussion related) that he suffers and that has in part made me not go after him in keeper league deals. Last year's 44 points in 42 games is an indication of what he can do. He'll turn it on along with the other Caps big guns. Have/keep the faith! - The Comish

aleco83, I would definitely add Salo as a short term solution, but only if you don't have to drop anyone noteworthy (or at least someone you can replace via WW). It's not IF he gets hurt and misses a large number of games, but WHEN. - Russ Miller

On Salo, "VERDICT: A Magnificent Mirage of epic proportions" Loved this, made me laugh. Salo is definitely a chocolate covered turd but how thick is the layer of chocolote this year?? Might be worth a flier. - aleco83
