Thanks for the ramblings. Thanks for stopping the "lock-out days count". We need to focus on the players that are playing. - grinder12

Editor mode on: The best goalie of all time, not all-time. I'm starting to see more and more weird hyphen usage all over the net. - Dakkster

Thanks OM - it is a grind on some days, but I can't complain about writing about hockey, regardless of the circumstances. - angus

The New Jersey Devils played may games (10-18) a couple years ago dressing the less than the allowed players, 17 on some games instead of 20.

To me this is a petty rule... The allowance was for a maximum of 20 per night, not a you must have 20. If a team wants to play the cap game like that, it is their own problem. If they are at the top of the cap, they are paying the max they are allowed to thier players, they just are not providing jobs to those making 550K....

The main rule to have followed is that you must dress two goalies as this rule is only in place to ensure that a game is not delayed should a goalie not be able to continue.

On the flip side the NHLPA is ok with a team having 23 players called up earning full NHL money while 3 can sit in the team box and do nothing, making the pie smaller...

I'm usually against the owners as they come up with bogus stuff from thin air, but I don't like this one from the NHLPA side...

Maybe they should concider that only the 20 players that play in a game count against the Cap, with an unlimited reserve roster size. - Jason_Banks

Thanks for continuing to write quality ramblings, Angus. Must be tough to be required to pump out writing when there is no NHL hockey. - OceanMon
