Every team plays the trap, just some better than others. And if the Wild played the trap correctly then maybe they'd be in the playoffs. (ouch, that hurts) - Sheepdogged

Oh I see what you're saying. I think it could be tough for those guys to crack the lineup regularly this season except for maybe Audy-Marchessault because the Blue Jackets will probably be bad, and possibly Nyquist if the Wings need some scoring help, which I think they might. Damien Brunner may be a good guy to look out for though. I was reading he is playing well with Zetterberg overseas right now and looks to be in Detroit's regular forward rotation. All the guys you listed would be soild for keeper leagues though. - Michael Amato

No no, I mean players like Shaw and Smith from last year (guys who kinda came out of nowhere to surprise poolies with production). Do you have any that's "outside of the box" that you think could have fantasy value this year? As opposed to the 5 you've already listed...

Like Peter Holland, Andy Miele, Gustav Nyqvist or Jonathan Audy-Marchessault? - Ryan Ma

I really wanted to include Andrew Shaw if that's who you were referring to, but I believe he is no longer considered a rookie because he played more than 26 games last year. I think he is going to do really well for the Hawks this "so called season" - Michael Amato

Good set of rookies, Amato, just wondering all of these guys are "well known" are there any lesser known ones out West that you think could make an impact?

Any guys like Smith (Nsh), Read or Shaw that you think might take a big leap forward this season? - Ryan Ma
