Ribeiro is undervalued

Thanks for this. Since his inglorious days in Montreal, he's been undervalued. (Marc Anthony (spot-on) and other comments aside.)

As an owner, and a Caps fan (among other teams, including the erstwhile Northstars), I've been one of those fantasy fans that held his nose while benefiting from Ribeiro's stats.

Part of me likes his grandiose posturing. Part of me detests the diving. But the fact is, he gets a lot of assists, and I think he'll get more in Washington. I think of him (stats only) as a Hemsky - as good as his teammates are. I think he'll be good this (or next, whatever) year. - Steffen

I'm a fan of Ribeiro as well however I think in regards to hit totals he will definitely take a hit... The scorekeepers at Stars games are notoriously friendly when assigning hit totals so his move to Washington will probably negatively effect his hit totals - SweetPotato

Ribeiro is severely underrated in fantasy hockey.

He also looks like a 50 year old coke addict from Miami. - yougo

Great write up, thanks. I'd say Ribeiro has a few more good years in him. He's not gonna win you a title or be a roto gem, but he's a good working part of your roster. Problem is, I can't draft anyone who looks this much like Marc Anthony. - shingy

I've always viewed Ribs as a bit of a roto killer. In ten seasons, he has exceeded 40 PIM only three times, scored 20+ goals only three times, and his career high for SOG is 163. He's a a career plus-5, nothing special there, but six of his seasons have ended in a minus.

Granted, my standard leagues don't count hits (yet), but IMO Skeletor's deficiencies are too great if you want the championship in an 8-12 team multi-cat league.

Also, dude turns 34 in February, so it's probably safe to say we've already seen his career season, Caps or no Caps.

year after year after year, ribeiro always gets drafted later than he should.
doesn't matter the format.
some people undervalue him, others just hate his guts....
good call on this one. - InnocentBystander
