Luongo has dealt with crazy media for five years. Toronto wouldn't be anything different. Vancouver is notoriously hard on goalies, too. - angus

regarding the spits, indeed the learning experience derived from just being around is immeasurable. apart from hall, henrique, ellis and fowler other former spits in that time include j.bailey, nemisz, kassian, e.wellwood, j.campbell, panik, loktionov, blacker, neuvirth, m.hackett, khochlachev, k.ryan, a.watson...and his current teammates (vail, ebert, clarke...). history will be kind to this team. - TheWherewithal

Lu takes allot of punches in Vancouver and still plays pretty good hockey considering. He would no doubt improve there squad tremendously. He is soft between the ears. - VicGeneral

Awesome read.

Lu's mental strength? He'd be great, no doubt. I believe Chris is referring to his media savy. He's definitely battle-tested coming from Vancouver. He'll be fun for sure. And, if he can get them to the play-offs in his first year, he'll be hailed a hero in Toronto...for a few months.

Schneider- Good point on his draft value possibly being hit if Luongo is still hanging around in the beginning of the season. Fact is, Schneider will have the crease all to him self come fantasy playoff time. Gold Jerry! Gold!

Khabibulin- His trend of contract year relevance might not happen this time around. Injures at 39 aren't helping any. Now that I mention it, looking at his career numbers, it's hard to find any year where his stats are all that good. He has only cracked a .910% once in the last 10 years. Boo. I'm not winning anything with him on my squad. And to add to this, it just feels right for Dubnyk. He's played well and looks poised to take the next step. In sync with his young teammates.

Islanders- Could Columbus be the new Islanders of the past couple of years, in fantasy terms? Like most teams in the Jackets position, there should be some under the radar finds. I'm hoping Dubinsky basically repeats his 10-11 campaign numbers (high roto value). Any improvement to that would be gravy.

Mike Green- The caps out of the bag. With all this extra reading time, I think most poolies, any serious ones, have the feelers out for Green. It'll be interesting to see if people over reach due to all the coverage. Green himself has basically said he'll score 70 points again (gotta love that confidence) so that's not hurting the hype any.

Ovie/Backstrom- Would love to land these two come draft day. Thing is with Backstrom, how long do you wait? Of course it's be great to snag him a little late since his ranking has suffered due to concussion reasons and missed time, but considering he might be looking good for 90 points, it could be hard not to pull the trigger a little earlier than expected. In a points only league he'd have to right up there. Looks like the Caps could reign fantasy supreme once again when things finally get under way.

Luongo and mental strength? That's gotta be a typo, right?
Honestly, I don't think there's a goalie who would fare worse in TO than Lu. Ok, well maybe Mason. - MGW

Don't often see the words "Luongo" and "mental strength" in the same sentence without also including the word "lacks".
