I love the new format, Angus. It allows me to quickly scan the ramblings and skip the bits I'm not interested in, which unfortunately is most of the hockey info out there these days. No offense meant...I'm just getting bored of the lack of real hockey talk out there due to the pending lockout. You guys do the best job you can of finding hockey material to discuss at a time without much going on. - SeaDawg

As a Blues Fan. ....Berglund and MacDonald really made each other go last year.

Perron/Steen - Backes - Oshie was typically the first line and Perron/Steen - Berglund - Stewart was the second.

However, Berglund and Stewart never really clicked, so when MacDonald came back, he slid onto the wing on Berglund's line and that's when they both took off.

I'd think based on their expectations for Tarasenko, and last year's chemistry....

Perron - Backes - Oshie
MacDonald - Berglund - Tarasenko
Steen - Schwartz - Stewart
D'Agostini/Reaves - Sobotka/Nichol - Langenbrunner . . . with any of the 4th liners moving up to the third if Schwartz or Stewart struggle. - ianreynolds1

"...a lot of proven NHL talents in Zach Boychuk, Bobby Sanguinetti, Drayson Bowman and Zac Dalpe...". What? Was that a typo "NHL" should be "AHL"? - His Dudeness

Regarding the Visnovsky rambling, I have to think Anaheim didn't sign Souray for that term/amount not to play on the PP. - His Dudeness

I enjoy the new format. The spacing compliments concise, concrete thoughts. Well done.

As far as Jagr in Columbus, seems like it would have been a move to drum up some excitement around town. - Ross The Boss Palmer

blues top nine is muddy, but i think you will at least see players in the following positions to start the season....

C - backes, berglund, steen
LW - perron, macdonald, schwartz
RW - oshie, stewart, tarasenko

combos to be determined....

Those referee uniforms are embarrassing and I get dizzy trying to watch a game with all those loud ads all over the ice. And don't get me started on those walking billboards they call players. Let's hope that the NHL never needs revenue enough to go to that extreme. - Excelsior

He is totally correct on this analysis, if there is no pressure to get the CBA signed then neither side was going to bring its best offer to the table. This is also the reason why nothing was done during last season, when everyone was wondering why they hadn't started work on the new CBA when they knew it was going to expire.
Until the players start missing pay cheques and the owners start seeing less revenue coming through the door there is no urgency. The problem for the players is that only a small percentage of them have been earning mega bucks and can afford to go without pay, the lesser paid players are the ones that start to crack first. The owners will win again, to some degree, as they have less to lose. - UKflames

It's interesting to see fights in leagues outside north america. From what I've seen (very little) from the KHL and Finland is that there is much less respect. - john.kawula
