No crying involved

Sentium, there was no crying involved and i'm a little to old, and probably big, to be called a baby:D . I respect your opinions on here and didn't have you down as the sort of person to throw cheap insults around.
It would appear that my understanding of the NHLPA proposal is different to yours, that's fine, my post was made using the information that I had read so far. More information has come out, I still don't think I like the idea but that is my opinion. Sorry if it is wrong in your eyes.

letnry - Thank you for your explanation. Whilst luxury tax may not be the correct term to use it seems to be the one used in the majority of reports I have read, maybe I should change my source of information. - UKflames

Agreed on getting the ramblings on the main site as well. I wonder if it may lessen traffic there though. But yeah, would love to see them here as well. - germant

UKflames: How about getting the facts before crying like a baby? The "luxury tax" would allow teams to go over OR UNDER the cap by 4 million each year. So equating it to the Yankees model is just plain silly and ignorant. - sentium

@UKflames

I think luxury tax isn't the right term to use, at least not in the baseball sense. There will still be a hard salary cap, the "luxury tax" referred to here, from my understanding, is tied to team earnings, not a penalty on team spending. - letnry

Love Ross's idea. It would certainly help me to read the prospect ramblings more often. - letnry

Luxury tax, No thanks

The players want the luxury tax because it then gives some of the teams unlimited spending power and the players can cash in. Dressing it up as giving money back is very clever.

The luxry tax will also see any parity that has been created in the league out of the door. The rich teams, maybe 10 at best, will follow the yankees budget system and everyone else becomes a feeder team for these rich clubs. Horrible system in my opinion. - UKflames

@ Ross the Boss - You haven't owned a console since N64???? Tell me the last hockey game you played isn't Blades of Steel!! Trust me, get a ps3 now and kiss the real world goodbye, so worth the domestic disputes.

As for the CBA, this is a solid offer by the players. It opens the door for serious earnings management by the ownership group though which they should be salivating at. Early recognition of revenues to boost growth margins wil lsurely become a problem. The players may be giving up more than they think as projected growth may "suddenly" skyrocket. If management can circumvent and find loopholes to the cap system you can be sure they can boost growth. - aleco83

I was at both games in Halifax, and Ryan Murphy was unreal. Easily the best player on the ice in game 3, and maybe second best behind Huberdeau in game 4. Can't wait to see what he can do in the NHL - c00per67

Would it be possible to get the Prospects Ramblin' blurb on main Dobber Hockey page? Just like how you have the Dobber Hockey Ramblin' blurb in the right column. I think it would help to further increase traffic there. - Ross The Boss Palmer

I haven't owned a game console since N64, but the biomechanics incorporated into the programming of the skating is incredible. I am considering getting a console for NHL13 alone. - Ross The Boss Palmer
