Thanks Mr Nichols. Between this and Goldie, I'm set for the coming season.

Presuming, of course, that the NHL universe unfolds as it should. - Steffen

Why would you presume there's no media pressure on Mason in Columbus? He's getting it in the papers and on local sports call-in shows. Of course, you may not be aware of this because the CBJ haven't given the US/Canadian hockey media much reason to cover them. - jacketracket

Mason's career can be salvaged?

I think he's done as a starter, and while a trade will give him new NHL life, he is the reincarnation of Andrew Raycroft between the ears. Mentally he can't come back to form, and if you can't work your way back while in Columbus, where dare I say, the media pressure is non-existent, then what destination would allow him a truly clean slate? He could catch on in a back up role, playing 12-15 games a year, but never as a starter.

No goaltender wants to leave the NHL for another league, for fear of not making it back. However in Mason's case, he should sign in the KHL, and hopefully dominate to get NHL teams thinking about him positively again. He is an after thought at this point, and it stretches far beyond the state of Ohio. - Puckhead
