Doan will score 93 goals this year and break Gretzky's record. If your prediction is wrong I will be very angry shingy. I'm just kidding....I'm excited to see what Doan decides to do. I know he was connected to the Hawks in trade rumors for the last 2 or 3 years, but they don't seem to be in the running at all in free agency, it's a little weird. People are willing to pay more if they can pretty much know what they're getting in return. And these guys are likely exemplary professionals, solid personalities in the dressing room and active off the ice in numerous social programs etc. If you can see a scenario where Semin scores 27 goals this year in Carolina, you must also be able to envision a scenario where Doan scores 27. If I'm to believe that he may be teamed up with Crosby, the Sedin twins or maybe Datsyuk, well maybe he'll score 30+? If they both score 30 goals then I guess I'm going with Doan all the way. If Doan lucks out and gets teamed with Crosby for the next 3 years, he might have a Barry Bonds post 35 year old breakout (exaggeration of course). Maybe Doan will stay in Phoenix after all and only score 18 goals this year. Maybe Semin scores 42 in Carolina and signs a big 3 year deals himself. Can't wait to find out.
