You forgot Skinner in your list. Here is where I'd put him :

Fantasy players this helps, in order:

1. Jordan Staal
2. Semin
3. Eric Staal
4. -> Skinner
5. Joni Pitkanen
6. Jamie McBain
7. Welsh - jeffoule

@SOLO
To be clear, I did not mean to imply credit to the Simpson's writers for the quote, but rather that in the pop-culture referencing world of hockey blogs I would damn near bet my left nut that it is an intended reference to a Simpson's quote. While that itself is a historical "flattering" of the Churchill quote, in this context it is likely in no way a direct reference to the much-less-hockey-blog quoted Winston Churchill. Astute or not. Angus' quote is word for word the Simpson's line ("a mystery, wrapped in an engima, (wrapped in a vest)"), reminiscient but obviously different from the original.

Also, enigma: do Czech players count or is that too close to Russia? I always thought Jan Bulis was enigmatic. I can think of several goalies too but seems goalies are expected to be. Bertuzzi when he was good. Most dominant platyer in the game for about 1 season...but only when he felt like it.

As for lines I also don't buy the chemistry being there for Staal-Staal Semin. I predict it evolves into 1 Staal with Semin and 1 with Skinner, as I think that will make them more damgerous as a team than being top-heavy. - sanstanya

The Staal boys are not going to want to play with Semin.
It's like parents asking their kids to bring the town wimp to the dance.

Really ?? Massive move for Carolina and Washington, massive impact for Semin and Staal owners, and you guys are bickering over the "Enigma" quote ??? - 1_Wabbit_1

The enigma quote does not trace its history to a Simpsons episode. If I'm not mistaken Angus would be more astute in drawing on history quoting from Churchill who likened the Soviet Union in a 1939 radio address to an enigma, stating "I cannot forecast to you the action of Russia. It is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma; but perhaps there is a key. That key is Russian national interest."

The Simpsons are definitely not the root of the quote. But, yes, it is often used in reference to Russian players, often with little evidence.

just curious, are you hacking on that quote because you think it's weak writing by the author or because you don't get the Simpson's reference? Because as a Simpsons's reference it's pretty awesome. I mean that is just a dynamite line from a dynamite episode. - sanstanya

Can you please stop referring to Semin as an enigma or enigmatic? It's the most tiresome description of him ever and especially of Russian players, since they're the only ones who get called enigmatic. Start calling Marleau or Huselius enigmatic or something... - sentium

I think this also helps Cam Ward, as whenever I watched Carolina vs Washington games Semin would score on Ward at least once a game haha - Rodgort

what about faulk? curious as to why it affects pitkanen and mcbain over him - do you think he's the one to take the step back in terms of ice-time on the PP? - ridinryan44

Any situation where he consistently gets adequate ice time and quality linemates will improve his chances of a rebound year. Kind of wished for him to land in PIT, but playing with the Staals in Car is not a bad plan B at all. - 403gl
