A lot of people saying Eberle being the one who gets bumped from one of the younger guys.....just remember one thing. He is the only one of the bunch so far that's stayed relatively healthy. I find there is too much chatter about how much better Hall, RNH, and maybe Yakupov passing Eberle on the scoring front. Up to now, he's been the man. What else does Eberle have to do to gain the "respect" he obviously deserves. I know the other three are going to be awesome, but why can't Eberle be included, if not the best of the bunch. Eberle is on his way to being one of, if not the top dog in the RW department. Don't get me wrong, I hope they all "light it up", but I feel Eberle's status on the Oilers should not be in the shadow of Hall, RNH, and Yakupov....but included if not on top of the bunch. He's proven it up to now, and I for one will be giving him the respect he so well deserves!! Go Oilers!! - Jake44

Hall and Yakupov play the same wing so the odds of them playing together is slim. And No, it is not that easy to just "play the other side" at the NHL level or every player would do it. - mrmojorisin

PP production goes up, or he might get bumped off by one of the younger guys.

One thing I didn't see mentioned is how Eberle got his points.

I looked at the end of the season, and it seemed that while he got significant pp time, he did not do so well scoring on the pp. I think he had less that five pp points from December on. (Going from memory here.)

So I have to wonder, is that a result of teams keying on him on the pp, opening it up for others, or something else.

At the least, I would expect that if he stays on the pp unit, that his pp production has to go up.

Any thoughts? - Teh Doktor

At least, it should be another little while before
Hall-RNH-Yakupov becomes the first line.
Has there ever been a hockey line composed of 3 first overall draft picks? - austeane

That is a nutty second season. Especially when some ranked them Hall>MPS>Eberle before their rookie season. I would usually worry that he would get knocked off the top line by Hall and Yakupov at some point in the future but it seems that there should be enough scoring to go around and Eberle shouldn't fall far from that total in years to come.
I wonder though, will he get all that much better points wise in the years to come? - austeane
