Fantrax Costs

The last time I checked Fantrax charged $60 per year for their premium leagues (which offer more features including draft pick trading).
To me this cost seems minor if it's spread out among 10-12 Owners.
I took advantage of their lifetime premium membership for $200. For $200 you will never have to pay for their premium league again. Plus they throw in a free playoff premium league for free. - C21Gun

We can skip this whole series and summarize all you need to know with one word.

Fantrax.

It has everything all these other sites do and much, much more. If you're the commish, you won't find more tools anywhere else. It supports leagues as deep and complex as you want across most sports and league types. The only downside is the premium costs money.

Check it out, you'll thank me. - Kyle

Farm Team - Draft Pick Trading

I've been in an ESPN Keeper League going into it's 5th year now.
I've contacted them about making draft pick trading available during the regular season and they said it's something they hope to address soon. The customer service for this site is pretty decent.
For the farm team, we keep track of it by typing it all out in the "commissioner's note" section on the league page. It's not as good as it could be but it works.
I will send this review to the customer service people at ESPN today. The Dobber community would make an excellent focus group for ESPN, Yahoo, etc. to consult with when designing/improving their respective fantasy platforms. - robmyatt

Agree that ESPN has a number of very good features. However-
their position designations are awful. They apparently get their position info from another company and there seems to be little ESPN will do except for adding a secondary position. That is alright except many leagues have position maximums and go by primary designation.
Also the draft setup is poor. The pre-draft ranking options are a joke- you can only see the top 200 ranked players which is useless in a multi-team keeper league. And their live draft application is cumbersome and seems to require an unnecessary large amount of bandwith.

Draft Pick Trading

The comment on draft pick trading isn't entirely true. They do allow draft pick trading from August until the draft is performed. This works well.

The do not allow for the trading of draft picks during the season. So I couldn't trade a 12/13 draft pick during the 11/12 season. We work around it manually, then trade the pick in the system in August. But it is a pain. - teamchachi
