dime, obviously it's Tallon's call if he wants to bring Clemmensen back or not, but it would be a great time to give Markstrom the backup role. The biggest reason he would benefit from it is because he would have less pressure because there will be a starter in place, but still plenty of opportunity because Theodore isn't a guy that plays 65-70 games in a season AND he has only one year left on his contract. You give him a little exposure now and let him take over the following season.

Bjugstad is definitely a solid option if he decides to go pro. I don't mention him in this article because at this point he has not signed a contract and I try to focus primarily on who is under contract in this series. If he does sign, he is most definitely in the mix.

I would like to update the Boston article, but the offseason is still young and I've got quite a few more teams to go through. For now, just know that Anton Khudobin's value has spiked for the coming season. :) - Tim Lucarelli

Strachan

True Kingchev, but it is only a one-way contract for $600k, and let's be honest - it's Tyson Strachan. Don't think for a second that the Panthers won't be willing to put him on waivers. The Flyers made a similar move when they signed Backlund to a one-way contract just about a year ago. Backlund never made it and there's a very realistic possibility that Strachan doesn't make it. Just for reference too - capgeek even has Strachan's one-way contract listed in the AHL salaries (mostly because that's where he spent most of last season, and for that matter, his career). - Tim Lucarelli

Any chance of getting an update on the Boston article after the Tim Thomas sabbatical and your view of Boston also signing Niklas Svedberg? - dime

Sounds like Tallon is a Clemmensen fan. I would not be surprised if they resign Clemmensen long-term to a decent deal, keep him and Theodore this season with Markström developing another year in the AHL, then let Theodore walk next year and letting Markström fight with Clemmensen for the starter job.

When it comes to forwards, I'd have to believe that Nick Bjugstad has a pretty good chance (at least as good as Drew Shore/Quinton Howden) of getting into the top9 IF he decides to go professional next year... also, I would assume that Shawn Matthias will at least get a look for a top9 role - dime

was signed to a one year- ONE WAY deal (600k) a couple of months ago, most likely stiffling any chance of Robak/Petrovic getting any cups of coffee. Also I feel Garrison will be asking for too much and they will let him walk and re-sign Ellerby. Campbell and Kulikov will work pp while the other depth guys fill the 2-7 spots. - Kingchev
