Thoughts? If you write about hockey 365 days of the year, you are bound to be wrong on occasion.

Hedman is a much smarter player offensively than Bouwmeester is. Better vision, instincts, etc.

He isn't a real QB, at all. Never said that and am not expecting that. - angus

I'm also perplexed to the fantasy value of Hedman. I'd bet more that he'd become a sort of Bouwmeester 2.0. Great to stabilize the defense and sometimes pinch in on the offense but not a real QB on the PP. - Tcheliabinsk

Some "Nostalgia" for Dobber

With Steckel gone, the Devils will sign Petr Sykora. I do not recommend him to anyone, as he has spent nearly two years overseas – because he couldn’t stick with the Wild. And he couldn’t stick with the Wild after managing just 46 points with the Penguins on Crosby’s line. What makes you think he could possibly top 40 points as a Devil? Nostalgia?

This quote was from Dobber in the October 5, 2011 ramblings. Thoughts? :) - poiuytrewq1230

H2H trade

In a vacuum and particularly a shorterm window of 2-3 years your deal is lopsided. Hedman has been nothing but disappointment and you're aware of Simmonds bloated value - looked like David Backes 2.0 this year though (multicat stud). I see this deal as high risk high reward mitigated by your depth at D. I wonder how Simmonds' production was while Giroux was out, I think he was on a tear which is a good sign since he can produce offense on his own. - aleco83

Carolina D
Carolina needs to put someone like that alongside him in order to thrive. I could see him as trade bait if things don’t work out. There are a lot of teams who would want a skilled young puck mover, and Carolina could turn their abundance of defensemen into a good young forward
Why whenever I read a quote like this do I think of EDM:D - UKflames
