Price wasn't ignored - I just don't know about Montreal's immediate future. Ward - great real life goalie, not a great fantasy goalie. - Jeff Angus

top 5 keeper goalies

As "ryan" already pointed out, not sure how Price or Ward are ignored in keeper formats, we are looking beyond 1 year leagues right. Also, Rinne has been benefiting from Weber and Sutur, both of which may not stick around. I would sell high on Rinne now, same applies to any Howard owner. - aleco83

Sorry Jeff, but .906 is not the mean that Holtby will regress to. http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=89936

Just check the numbers. This AHL season is an outlier in his career. - sentium

Not that I disagree that it would be nice to see Whitney and Doan win the Cup, but Whitney won it with Carolina. - tony dickherber

Faulk

Wonder why the article from Canes Country didn't consider Nikitin in their analysis. He had better counting stats than Faulk, and he did that in 15 fewer games. Faulk had only 2 more PPPTs. Nikitin had a higher average TOI and PP TOI. If I remember properly, Nikitin was a -8 when traded from St Louis so his plus/minus was pretty much even for Columbus...that's impressive given how bad a team they were.

Maybe Faulk projects better based on being only 20 years old, but don't sleep on Nikitin. I scooped him off the WW and he was a solid add all season long. - Knuckles

Too early to hop off Khabibulin...

I wrote it in a forum thread before, but it might have been lost in the migration...

Khabibulin in a contract year is a completely different monster...
85-50-21 (54.5% win rate), 2.25 GAA and .918 SP...
Non-contract year: 243-278-95 (39.4% win rate), 2.84 GAA and .905 SP...

I'm not in Khabi's head, but his motivation factor during the contract years seems to be much higher than the seasons that he has job security.

If the Oilers move him, the team that picks him up could be absolutely laughing at getting a goalie of his calibre on the cheap...

He's definitely someone that I'm tabbing as a "buy low" for fantasy leagues next campaign... - Ryan Ma

Angus, who is the next Giroux? Or who "could" be the next Giroux? Feel free to include as many names as you want. - Randall

Ryan - love Price, Montreal situation is questionable. Schneider will be starting somewhere next year, and I'd bet it will be Vancouver. You are right though, a question mark until something happens.

Heaton - thanks for the correction - Jeff Angus

If Holmstrom does indeed retire, I dont see them moving Franzen. Will be interesting to see if Stuart comes back or.... do they get involved in the Luongo sweepstakes and move Howard? Howard is younger- but the Wings window to win it all is now, Luongo gives them a better shot at that IMO, as does Thomas..... could be a very interesting off season. - Larry

Schneider top 5?

Wow.. I mean, I like Schneider, but how in the world do you put him top-5 when you don't even know what his situation is next year? Sure as hell wouldn't see me (or many, IMO) drafting Schneider before names like Price and Ward. I think he'll be great but that seems like a lot of love for a tender in a situation that's a big question mark right now. - ryan

Hudler is a UFA so the Wings can just walk away from him. - Heaton
