Beau Schmitz

Watched a lot of him this year and he was definitely good but as an overager he played a ton of minutes. Moves the puck well and is a decent skater. Its definitely a good AHL pickup one that could have a long career.

Schmitz' playoff was extremely disappointing after going pointless
and -4 in 7 games.

I think his icetime is just because MacLean has done such a good job rolling 4 lines, which has been an advantage for Ottawa over the Rangers. There's just not too much extra ice time to go around. - Carl Flintoff

I [s]always[/s] say “probably” or “I think” or “he should”, etc.

replace with:
*try to
*should
*often
*need to remind myself to make a better effort to

That sentence was an oxymoron in itself. LOL.

Ah, my streak of compliments for Dobber has come to an end at four.
CHEERS!!! :D - Pengwin7

I hope those few playoff points go a long way in giving him some of his confidence back. I think he needs to be playing a top 6 role rather than the third line energy/checking role, which he is not built for, but many will argue that he hasn't earned it and isn't good enough.
I think CHI was actually a terrible fit for him as he is stuck behind a lot of very skilled players that he would never replace on those top two lines. Whilst many would raise their eyebrows if he was traded again, having only recently gone to CHI, I think a trade would be the best thing for him. Maybe an interesting fit for him would be someowhere like WSH? - UKflames

Dobbs...nice read as usual...So next year will we see the stifling defensive forecheck games of LA, Phoenix, STL and Nashville take over the East? Much faster game when played this way with lots of hits, more playoff like hockey all the time...;D - mike hess
