It's not that Bryz has had 1 bad series, it's that he could have a bad one very 2nd go. Just no consistency. He hasn't had a save percentage over .900 in his last 9 playoff games. He's not getting a bad rap - he's inconsistent as hell. It just isn't a position where you earn merit points for being awesome 80% of the time if you're shit the rest. You can get away with that as a forward (ask Rick Nash) but for goalies it's all about consistency.

Luongo is similar though not nearly as inconsistent I don't think. But he still hasn't shown he can lock it down when it really maters. He's a dynamite goalie a lot of the time, but not quite enough. - Sanstanya

I did not expect Daniel to make such a difference in his return. Its hard to believe how little respect the Sedins get. They were spectacular last night. To bad Torres didn't take out Keith, Hossa didn't deserve what he got.

Wow Bryz is making Lou look good!

@ Sentium - Bryz will get the same rep as Lou now, Lou played excellent until the games in Boston last year - even got a shutout in that series but people only remember the boston games. Bryz was poor in the coyotes series against the wings last year as well.
I am sure people will cringe at the comparison. - mick

Rinaldo

Well, no disciplinary action or fine for Rinaldo! Hard to believe but since there is no consistency in any ruling this doesn't surprise me. Dobber was right, there's no amount of money you could pay me to take that job Shanahan has. Of course, Shanahan could have set an immediate tone for the playoffs if he suspended Weber for a game but now he only has himself to blame for the shenanigans we've seen so far. - Jeff Sabatine

Bryzgalov is the most hot/cold keeper Ive seen in years.
I thought Kopitars wrist shot was spectacular, Turris' mightve been better.

The Sedins were on their game last nite, a couple of passes only they wouldve ever attempted. Watching the Kings this much, makes a Canuck fan miss Willie Mitchell- he is their best defensive man, absolute rock.

The first round never seems to dissapoint, would I be crazy if i wanted the NHL to go to an 80 game schedule and a best of 9 for the first round? - Larry

By the way, that highlights video just shows the Canucks' share of the highlights from that game. I noticed it when I tried to find LA's goal in the video, but it was apparently cut out. The Vancouver bias from Angus is getting annoying. - sentium

"Just when you thought Ilya Bryzgalov’s value couldn’t get any lower…. Is anyone willing to “buy low” on him at this point?"

It's one single series. One crazy series at that. You make it sound like this voids his excellent play leading up to the playoffs. Ridiculous. - sentium

Apparently Kyle Turris loves to eat cheesecake on gamedays according to the Matt Carkner post game interview. I'm assuming he is refering to Turris going "top cheese" as they say. - Daniel Brownstein

Not that Lundquist let in a bad goal, but part of elite goaltending is finding a way to see through/around screens, and to have body position to stop pucks even if you can't see through. - R

I don't like the tap from Henrik when Dustin Brown is still on his knees from a puck in the face. I know Dustin gave him a knock on the head earlier in this series, but that is pretty poor behaviour... Henrik isn't even following the play at that point, he's just taking a stroll past Brown. - EDM
