Not personal at all Dobber, perhaps on your end, but not on mine. I think the site is fantastic. That said, you have admitted before that you have been accused of possibly "pumping the tires" for the Pens too much. Was just pointing it out that it is still happening. I just think readers should take comments made by columnists about certain teams or players with the grain of salt as they sometimes comes with biasis. You are welcome to your opinion, as is anyone else. To say they are the best team in the past 20 years is a bit of a stretch therefore you should expect a bit of kickback from it. I could go as far as saying that was a "dumb statement" and that I want to "put you in your place" but I won't as I feel there is no need to get personal or try play the bully. I won't stoop to that level. I know you had a rough week with the Pens going down 3-0 but it happens. Have a beer and relax.:) - Hakaan Loon

Here you are Hakaan - pretty much all positive Don Cherry mentions here:

I'm sure you love to troll columnists around the internet, but the difference with me is - I troll back. So bring it! LOL

Hakaan - come down from the drugs before you comment here. I love Don Cherry, and created entire articles about how great he is. Say no to crack. If you're going to comment the opposite of the facts with regards to this site, then feel free to not check in anymore. Did you even do a search of "Don Cherry" to check your facts first? Or you don't let facts get in the way when it comes to opening your yap? I'm pretty positive about all teams and all players. In the future, if you feel like yammering, you can email or even phone me. I'll be happy to put you in your place ;)

Funny how I have rarely if ever seen Cherry mentioned on this site, or only mentioned in a negative light, but suddenly he defends Crosby and up goes the link immediatley. I feel like I am on the Penguins team site here at times. Kind of makes me want to stop checking in to Dobberhockey. There is just no objectivity here when it comes to the Pens, Malkin or Crosby. Very disappointing to see such a great site go that route. Oh well. C'est la vie. Glad to see other impartial analysts and websites starting to see the light and speak the truth. Great players, terrible attitudes, very unlikeable franchise. Note: Not a Flyers, Caps, Rangers, Islanders or any other team fan that is rivals with Pittsburgh. Just telling it like it is. - Hakaan Loon

Interesting that you call out GB for being a Flyer faithful only to put up ridiculous comments right after. Yes I am a Flyer fan. Yes I can admit that our guys can be just as brutal at times as well. To say though that because Crosby has the camera on him more than others is the reason he has so many people making comments about his whining and crying is ludicrous. He has been a whiner and cry baby since he came into the league as the next prima donna. Man up bud, he's an immature punk who has had to much fortune at an early age and expects that it should be his right to have more. Watch a little closer and take off the rose coloured glasses and you will see what all the rest of us do, he is a whiny b*tch.

As for the Neal crap. Really, he hits an unsuspecting player who didn't even touch the puck. Couturier drops like he was shot? Have you ever played the game? Try taking a hit when you are not aware the guy is about to cream you and then tell me if he was acting like he was shot. Neal is a gutless b*tch just like his captain. If he had any b*lls he would have gone after Simmonds and received proper treatment.

Not only does Neal take out his frustrations on Couturier but then he goes after Girouxs' head much like Gena did the last few regular season games. Why is it that none of that is looked at? Oh yes, because the Pens are the favoured child of the NHL. Typical. You tell me, if Hartnell made those exact same hits to Cindy and Gena would he still be playing or would the league be throwing the book at him. That's what I thought.

I got no problem with you defending your Pens and trying to downplay just how pathetically dirty they are but at least have the cohones to own up to the fact that what they are doing is no different than what countless other players have done over the years when things aren't going as expected in the playoffs. Throwing a temper tantrum like a 5 yr old child who wasn't given what they wanted. - Hek

Maximus...thanks for the comments and explanation. I agree meltdown is the common ingredient, but to me its not that they only lost control, but that is shows their TRUE nature as a team and individuals. Other series this year and other years have been just as tough, intense and physical, but we've not seen the childish behavior like Crosby or Adams(hair pulling, really?) or the vindictive approach like Asham or Neal come out repeatedly...throw in Crosby's post-game comments which showed how much of a petulant spoiled brat he is and it all makes perfect sense IMO. Blysma covering for him is pathetic and the total silence from Mario is pretty funny you've got to admit...when another team does it, he'll speak loudly/repeatedly, but when his own team does it 10x worse his lips are sealed tightly. I'm a Flyers fan, but I think this was pretty clear to anyone with a brain and an ounce of objectivity. - GB

You must be a bitter leaf/habs fan or a flyers fan based on your comments.

everything you described below translates to one thing, MELTDOWN.

Everything the Pens are doing is happening because they are MELTING DOWN and they've lost control. When a team is losing and no matter what they do to win doesn't work, especially with the caliber of talent they have, they become unravelled and spiral out of the playoffs.

The Flyers have handed it to them and have had a response for everything they have done and they are totally in their heads.

The Crosby is a whiner/cry baby comments got old 4 years ago dude, find something else to talk about. If the camera was on Giroux or Timonen or Briere or Hartnell at all times like it is on Crosby, you'd see them bitching and moaning all game long too. - Maximus

Neal gets 1 or 2 fines of $2,500 just like Weber, otherwise, Shanahan might as well just reveal the wheel and let it be a TSN daily event where he spins it LIVE on TV to determine the punishment because he has NO CLUE what he is doing.

If Weber got 1+ games for the face slam, i don't think teams would be going AS crazy.

Giroux stumbled after Neal's hit because his helmet was stuck over his eyes and he tripped over his own feet. OBVIOUSLY Neal wanted to lay Giroux out but i am certain there was no intent to target the head. Giroux was out in the scrums right after and tangled up with Crosby (although nothing happened) again.

Whatever Asham gets for his 'deadly' cross-check on Schenn, Backstrom should get 1 game less since he didn't punch Peverley too. If Peverley didn't get his stick up, he wouldn't have any teeth today and if Peverley dropped the way Schenn did, people would be going wild about it.

Everyone complains about the Pens diving (and i agree that Letang does it as much as anyone in the league) yet it's lost on all of the haters that the Flyers are doing the exact same thing. Both Schenn and Couturier went down like they were shot and came out swinging the very next shift but because the Pens were unraveling, it was lost. No doubt do i think Asham should sit, i would rather have more skill in the line-up anyway...not that it matters much.

I just love how the Pens have been exposed during this series...from Letang's obvious dive in game 2 to Crosby "fighting" Giroux (only when the refs had a firm grip on Claude)to Crosby's petulant behavior on Voracek's glove to Neal's head hunting to Asham's "protecting his teammate" by punching a guy face down on the ice from behind to Adams pulling Hartnell's hair to Bylsma's lame excuses and transparent contention Crosby did what he did to "spark his team". What a joke, one many of us knew a long time ago and, amazingly enough, total silence by their whiny owner, Mario, who made a big stand last year after a fight marred game on the Island on handing out suspensions and openly wondering if he could stay in a league that allowed such bad behavior...classic hypocrisy - GB

berglund centers macdonald and steen on the second line...
has all series.
stewart just doesn't have the skills to be successful in any kind of system other than a run and gun offence...
well, maybe a center like giroux could make him a star. - InnocentBystander

"Neal’s was just careless, but I don’t know about intent."
ummm...he leaped into couturier, then shortly after targeted giroux. his intentions were lovey-dovey. unfortunately he's a star and on bettman's love-child penguins, which means he won't get much, a game at most. - bill
