I disagree.

We have seen some D develop super fast in the last few years, but that does not change the fact that most take till they are 25-27 to really figure everything out. He does look like he has stalled, but a new team and a clear shot at first pairing time i think he could still be a very good fastany D. the best comparison for his development right now is bogosian, since doughty and pietranglo have really developed fast.. i am not willing to give up on either yet (or EJ) since they still all have elite upside... it will just take a normal amount of time instead of super fast - notoriousjim

Let me guess- a leaf fan perhaps? Comparing him vs other dmen in their 4th year isnt really relevant (unless youre comparing where he went in the draft vs other picks). Your using a very small sample size- and even at that he is only middle of the pack.
One of the reasons Schenn gets so many hits, is he chases opponents- gets the hit-but is then out of position (much like Phaneuf and Komi) leaving the goaltender hanging out to dry. The leafs defensive coverage is awful (atleast under Wilson).
As for blocked shots, the decreased icetime is probably the biggest factor, but its his overall poor play thats led to the decrease in opportunites to block shots. As for his ranking in icetime- it should only be compared with other dmen on the team- not with forwards, he is now a bottom pairing dman on a poor defensive team with little offensive upside. Not fantasy relevant, and unless he improves his positional play he wont even be a good shut down dman. - Larry
