Agreed,

Bodies on ice doesn't always = production, but I think it does enable the potential for more production.

Having someone playing is better than having no one playing...

I came from a different perspective from you, in order to get to the final you'll have to have at least 1 if not 2 weeks matchups before that. So I was looking from a broader perspective than just for the "final" week, you gotta clear the hurdles before that before getting to the finish line...

If you look at the 2 weeks before that only Colorado and Anaheim have less games... So it might be worth picking up Blues players for a spot start on Wednesday of the final week then dropping them right after the game to make up some GP, but I wouldn't want to keep Blues players for the entire duration of the playoff period.

They only have 9 games for those 3 weeks, compared to 11 for SJ, Van and Minny and 10 for Edmonton...

I second what Shoeless said as well, Det Phx and even going to Dallas for a final game is a very tough schedule... If you were taking the "off" days strategy TB is a much better option with Monday at home vs Caps, Wed on the road against Habs, Thursday at Leafs and Saturday at Jets... you even get 4 games out of them as well.

TB is the way to go! - Ryan Ma

Great observation, except you missed that they play Detroit and Phoenix on those off days, who sport GAA in the top 7 in the league and the Blues who sport a GFA in the bottom 8 in the league. So in those matches the chances of the Blues getting their already limited offensive production even more limited is pretty good. And then if you start seeking secondary scoring on the Blues - because the primary scorers are most likely to be gone in average sized leagues - she is a pretty dry well indeed.

Bodies on the ice don't equate to production. - Shoeless

The Final Week

Would have loved to see more information relayed about the general NHL scheduling in that final week, especially re: St.Louis. There's nothing more simple than pointing to St.Louis' WED/FRI off-night games in the final (April 2-7) week. In most of my leagues, I'm going to try to set my bench players as either STL (and/or TB). For me, it's championship week or bust - and those are the teams to own in the final week (because of two off-night games).

Take Vancouver, a fantasy team could go after Higgins/Booth. Both players will almost certainly be benched that final week when VAN plays on the majority nights (TUE/THUR/SAT)... or a team could go after somebody like Arnott/McDonald knowing for certainly that they'll have open roster spots for those guys on the off WED/FRI.

Great math, but you missed the simplest/best tip... IMO. - Pengwin7
