doulos- lay off the crack.

with either team (LA or Van) having good young goaltenders they can afford to move- and Clb. needing goaltending badly, these teams are obvious possabilities. LA has alot of good prospects they could package, but outside of Bernier, I dont see any 'star'prospects-but it could include a decent 1st rounder.
Where as Vancouver has Schneider and a young decent player like Raymond (who would be expendable with Nash on the roster) or god forbid- Hodgson (more likely) to package with less enticing picks or even less 'star' prospects (ie- Rodin,Schroeder,Connauton). The Canuck offer would also be muddied with some salary having to head Columbus' way- and the need for a goaltender to be returned (no way they go with Lack as a backup for a playoff run, they would need somebody else for atleast this year). With Ballard being banged up right now- I dont see him moving, and I really dont see the Canucks dismantling their current roster just to add Nash and a big contract, when they could get similar production from a now healthy Booth- and knowing they have 2 capable goalies.
Now in the off season- maybe a team like Philly can package VanRiemsdyk, or maybe the Sabres move a Vanek,Roy combo- but its going to be tough to move Nash by the deadline and get the best return, and the GM's job/future will depend on it. - Larry

I was listening to last night's HNIC Radio show and one of their guests (I forget who) had also stated that St.Louis is a team that makes sense. It definitely caught my attention as a plausible destination (Bishop+Stewart+prospect+1st could be enticing).

Nash to LA makes the most sense to me but, from the past, dealing with Lombardi must be an awful experience. There is a reason why Lombardi has a reputation as a GM that's hard to deal with. (Bernier, Voynov, Loktionov + pick..maybe 1st is a good starting point)

I sought out advice a few weeks ago on a potential Kovalchuk-Getzlaf deal I was pondering. I've always coveted Getzlaf (own Perry) so I asked around (including Dobber) about sending my Kovy+Lupul for Getzlaf+Moulson+pick upgrade. I received overwhelming support to pull the trigger and my gut said to as well. Kovalchuk was the last remaining pice from my original roster in our 6-year keeper league. Since making that trade on Jan 25th, Kovalchuk has rattled off 6 goals, 10 assists, 16 points, +5, 7PIM in 8 games. Getzlaf has a measley 5 assists in the same amount of games. *Sigh* I'd still do the deal all over again but it's frustrating to watch right now. Just wanted to share that fantasy story.

Nash trade

Nash is CBJ's all time franchise player. In trading him, yes they'll need to get a goalie back, but they'll also need to get someone really "sexy" to sell to their fans/ownership - either Carter sexy or Wisniewski sexy (I'm saying "sexy", not "good" LOL), or stud in the making prospect they can sell to fans as the next Nash. Moller/Loktionov/Voynov etc. ain't it. In fact, neither are the other LA assets mentioned in that ridiculous deal. Between that, his cap hit, and his NTC/NMC, it is unlikely to me he is moved now as opposed to the draft, when teams are more likely to try and shake things up, including being more willing to trade a starting goalie to start fresh with a young one or to acquire one in FA. Jackets will have more options in the summer. - fzusher

did i miss something? why wasn't goligoski awarded an assist on the lone dallas (power play) goal last night? loui wasn't anywhere near the puck. i could desperately use that assist and that special teams point this week. - Kyle
