Hi Dean,

Your list is much appreciated. I will definitely use your list when our league's prospects draft starts!

Knowing a prospect's fantasy value is much more important as opposed to his NHL value.

However since our draft is 8 rounds deep (24 teams) I was wondering if you have some tips for me to pick out some better late round prospects?

I have pre-ordered a draft guide from Future Considerations and I am wondering if I should focuse on prospects with certain skill-sets (like would it be wiser to pick prospects with superior "skating skills", "instincts", "speed", "aligility", "hockey smarts") or should I solely focus on a prospect's offensive upside? - Ron
Like every year there seems to be a lot of centerman .... Any of these guys project to play on the wing?
Ten of the forwards I listed are wingers or have played wing before. In saying that, I could certainly see players like Galchenyuk and Hertl getting tried at wing in the NHL. Gally has played the wing before in certain situations but I think he's better at in the middle. However, at the NHL level, it could be a different story and his versatily is something that is sought after. Centremen like Gaunce, Girgenson and Grigorenko are better left in the middle IMO. Gaunce and Girgenson are tireless workers and playing centre allows them to compete to the best of their game. Grigorenko doesn't have the defensive awareness as Gaunce or Girgenson and his work ethic has been questioned at times as well so a team might be willing to move him to the wing and experiment with that.

Pearson

Pearson was close to getting an HM but I had to cut it off somewhere. Tanner's been passed over twice at the draft and to be honest I am not all that confident he has much upside at the NHL level. I haven't been impressed all that much with Pearson in the viewings I've had.

He'd be right behind that Hudon group. - Dean Youngblood

You don't think Tanner Pearson deserves even a mention in this list? - Noma

Five Nations Tournament Update

The 5-Nations tournament is currently underway in Finland featuring several top draft eligibles - Forsberg (Swe), Collberg (Swe), Aberg (Swe), Bystrom (SWE), Teravainen (FIN), Skjei (USA), Trouba (USA), Kerdiles (USA), Matteau (USA), Vasilevsky (G - RUS), Dansk (G- SWE), and Slepyshev (RUS). There are others too and some top 2013 eligibles too.

Just to keep you updated from some reports I have read. Teravainen (5G,1A) and Collberg (1G,5A) lead the tournament in scoring after three games. Forsberg has been his dominant self but only has a few points to show for himself (1g, 1a). Defensemen Bystrom, and Skjei have two points each through 3 games while Trouba has 1 assist. USA U-18 team has struggled somewhat so far and it's reflective in their individual stats.

Dansk has outplayed WJC standout Vasilevsky. Dansk holds a 1.50 GAA and .951 SV% with a 2-0 record to sit 3rd in Goaltending stats. Vasilevsky has posted a fairly unimpressive 3.00 GAA and .889 SV% with a 0-1 record.
