start zone % may be contributing to his weak year - but the two biggest reasons for his dropoff are named daniel and henrik. just ask anson carter. - blammo

Lucic/Kaleta

No mention of Lucic's forecheck to the head of Kaleta while Kaleta was on his knees? Hopefully the league will look at that.

Last night's game was just one game but coupled with their performance over the past four, it's a sign that the Sabres will again attempt another miracle coming down the home stretch.

And while I hope they succeed on one level, it would be the worst thing for them on another, for they do need to make some marked changes to this squad if they ever want to win the Cup. - Richard J. DAngelo

Problem with that Perry play is that he didnt do enough to knock him over with the hook between the legs, Jokinen just fell down. Jokinen falls down to draw a penalty but the refs want to see you move your legs through the infraction. Yet his play has been hindered already. Players dont trust the refs to make the right call. - DuklaNation

His save percentage in 18 games over the last two seasons with Detroit is a not-too-shabby .917. Nine of the Wings' next 11 are at home. Against all but the studliest opponents, I'd take my chances with him at the Joe at least until the 18-game home win streak ends.

Great rambling Mike!

Indeed M.Koivu is a solid player in fantasy leagues. I've always been a fan of his and agree that this is the year (injuries) that he is under the radar and might be available.

If Lundqvist & Rinne were both playing for "Team X" (same forwards, same D, same coach)... I'd say it would be a toss-up... either goalie, great choice. As keeper leagues go though, Lundy MUST be the #1. NYR is going to spend to the CAP every year, they have some great young D coming up & signed. NAS top two D-men may both be gone to start next year - and that can have a drastic impact on the goalie stats.

Good points on Ehrhoff & B.Richards. Put Jeff Carter in that boat too. There is a noticeable trend that players signed to be the #1 guy on a new team often struggle in their first year (Bryz!). However, signing a solid top-line or top-pair complimentary player can show quicker rewards: James Neal w/PIT, Ian White w/DET, Versteeg & Flash & Soupy w/FLA, Jagr w/PHI). Usually though, good players will eventually shake it off - Kessel & Phaneuf have regained form in TOR this year. Vokoun was shaky for the first half of the season in WAS but seems to have found his grove. IMO, we will see solid things from Ehrhoff & B.Richards NEXT year... once the limelight has faded. - Pengwin7

All signs point to him returning against Vancouver tonight on the first line with Heatley and Setoguchi; the latter of whom was last seen struggling in the third line. As a Wild fan I hope this works. - Sheepish

Beat fantasy goalie is Lundqvist without any hesitation. Rinne, Luongo, Quick, Howard, Fleury would be the next in line for consideration, but none of them come close to Lundqvist. - r22yu

another goalie candidate ?
Well considering that I have both Henrik and Pekka in my keeper league I haven't given it much thought however if I were in a pinch I would take a closer look at

Tuuka Rask
Both Neuvirth and Holtby
and last but not least Ondrej Pavelec

fyi I have neuvirth and holtby in that same league :) - paul
