Doulos,
I agree with you up to a point - that point being, winning it all. Gillis's stated goal is winning the cup with this core group, however, the Sedins will find it increasingly difficult to deal with the grind and the speed in games where it really counts. I think the Canucks need to get back to the final in the next two years or they will take a step back. Fit Nash on a good team with good players and you have a 50+ goal scorer. It must be very disheartening to be stuck (17 goals, -21) where he is.
CBJ should trade him and start over by building around players received in return for Nash and their top pick in next year's draft. The Jackets have eff'd up and should reset. I don't like the Canucks that much either. - Paul

Ken Campbell might be right about Gagner's assist but who cares. It was a great story and he comes off like a crotchety old fun wrecker who always has negative things to say about even the best things in life.

Must be depressing living in his world where your only purpose is to get people to read your blog by moaning and bitching.

Paul,

I hate the Canucks but not sure I see how their window is closing. They have much of their core locked up long term at decent salaries and will only need to shuffle complementary pieces for the next few years. It's a great time to be a Canuck fan. - doulos

Prediction: The Canucks trade Schneider, Ballard, a first rounder, a roster player and a prospect to CBJ for Rick Nash. - Paul

Firstly I should state that I am not a San Jose fan.

I commented on him in the article when he was traded to San Jose. I have faith in this guy to bring help to San Jose's fourth line if/when he returns. I am not saying he will be a fantasy producer by any means, but he will take some defensive zone faceoffs and is good in his own end in the corners.

Could provide less defensive responsibilities to San Jose's top 6, and if all goes well give potentially a slight increase in production opportunities for the top 6. - Ross The Boss Palmer
