I have to say that part of the reason I look forward to Sundays is the knowledge that Chris Nichols will be rambling. My favourite (after Dobber, of course). And no diss to Angus.

My wife says I should never post while under the influence. I'm watching my first NFL game this year. Of course I'm drunk. (I'm an Ottawa Rough Riders fan. Montreal Expos too. Can you imagine my Jets addiction?)

Seriously, Mr Nichols: broad, insightful, coverage. And remarkably concise. Best poster here, I figure.

Thanks. - Steffen

I'm just glad we can all agree on something about Marchand - his instincts. Since I think it's a given he isn't possibly smart enough to cognitively make the decision to make that dangerous play that fast. Therefore, by default we are forced to conclude that he is just such an epic d-bag that kind of play is simply what his instincts dictate.

And before I get accussed of bias I'll tell you I thought Cooke was just as big a D-bag playing in Vancouver as he is outside of it. I don't give a rat's ass who those types play for, and I won't shed a tear for any of them who get karmically ruined right out of the game. - Sanstanya

roar of applause for sure!!
Its been a good week for west coast fans:
Bolland's favorite players scoring the OT winner
the hawks get humiliated by the coilers,
watching Boston lose and Marchand getting rocked.
Hodgeson rookie of the week

very good week indeed!!

Great ramblings today, very informative. Marchand (5'9",183) may have instinctivly ducked to avoid being blasted through the boards by Salo(6'3",212), but I haven't heard that he's bitten anyone. I say he has the stones to play today and come up big. Oh BTW was that the same karma train that hit Vancouver in game 7 ??? - Donnie OBrien

oh and by the way, for all of the third D and Z switched lines -- franzen-zetterberg-bertuzzi, filppula-datsyuk-hudler. actually i'm pretty sure i also saw zetterberg on the latter line a couple times too, double shifting. the FZB line was dominant, even though franzen didn't really do much, so them staying together for another period at least wouldn't be too surprising.

is it just me or does filppula worship datsyuk too much? i get that he plays like a mini datsyuk, but put them on a line together and it's a steady stream of filppula passing it to him right away every time he gets the puck! and then he even tried datsyuk's move in the shootout. i'd be very interested to see a filppula-zetterberg-bertuzzi line. - Noam

zetterberg in the third period tonight was the best i've seen anyone play in a long time now (i did not see the gagner game :()! how could he not be one of the three stars, or in my opinion first? also does anyone know why they removed his third assist and kept white's there...? hopefully (for my pool) this will be rectified - Noam
