with bouwmeester, it's all about confidence. he plays well generally all the time (he's been a stud this year) but the points only come for him when he's feeling the mojo. he is right now - jumping in to the play lots, attacking the net from the point.

ride it while you can. - ultrawhiteness

Patience with goaltending

Mr. Landry makes a good point about the system in St. Louis being an important part of Halak's revival, but I don't think it discounts Mike's point about sitting and waiting for guys like Halak, Ward and Luongo to get over their early season funks. Patience is key - Steve Mason is probably the only goalie of substance in the last few seasons who has gone against the grain.

Anyway, great ramblings Mike - I grabbed Gonchar early in a couple of leagues this year and don't regret it. However, I am not sold on Staal - the price needs to be right I think - in most 12 team leagues, I would not treat him as anything more than a 3rd C on my depth chart - he is still worth more as a 2 way C in real life than he ever will be in a fantasy league, for my money.

You were a nice add to the ramblings team - keep stroking! - Shoeless

Impatience with Halak

While I do say I wish I had held on to Halak, you can't say that patience was the key here. I say it has everything to do with the new coach. Hitchcock always brings the fire for the first year or so but dies off as time goes on. It's the system. Just as Bryz was a product of the environment, Halak is too. - Ken Landry
