Crosby

Ryan-thanks for responding and I totally get what your intent was with the article and that you stated to keep the health issue out of this analysis, but its impossible IMO. Its like trying to evaluate two professional runners and telling us to ignore that one of them has no legs. Crosby's concussion history trumps all production analysis because he cannot play! - GB

Absolutely, you can't ignore the health issues, but the intent of this article is to question his production, not his health. His production when healthy is undeniable. Would I draft Crosby over Ovechkin? No, because his concussions scares me far too much. Based on the criteria, when healthy, Crosby out-produces Ovechkin and is a much more efficient salary cap player. As stated in the article, I have taken the assumption that, like many other league, there are IR spots so, yes, that cap hit would come off your roster. This question is exactly why I stated in the intro that we will "ignore the health concerns surrounding him"

The debate on owning Crosby over Ovechkin is an entirely different issue. Thanks for your input! - Ryan Goddard

Interesting article, but its hard to ignore the biggest reality that exists for Crosby: he is injured and not playing and when you're not playing you cannot produce. His salary on your roster does not change and a big gaping hole Even worse, is that Crosby has been injured for pretty much the last year and we only have 8 games of production during that time. There is a lot of doubt on whether or not he can come back this month, next month, this season, next season...he bumped into Krecji pretty lightly to get this 2nd/3rd(?) concussion and if thats all it takes after a year of rest that is a pretty scary position to be in as a fantasy owner. - GB

The nickname you use for Sidney Crosby in the opening sentence of this article is neither funny nor appropriate. Get a clue and please edit this article. And no I don't have Crosby on any fantasy teams, just respect for a great player in a tragic situation. - Jammer
