As a former semin owner, I can tell you having him on the first line is awful for his fantasy owners. Typically, Backstrom goes into the d zone to get the puck, skates to center and then passes it to OV either just before or just after the offensive blueline. Ov then shoots or drives towards the net. Semin does not crash the net, so
he just skates up and down the right hand side of the ice. He is better on the 2nd line where team mates will pass him the puck or he can skate into a shooting position and take advantage of his awesome shot. - Patrick Hall

the NHL rules regarding goalie wins/shutouts really need to be looked at revamped. Maybe shared shutouts should be fractionalized? or awarded fully by most time on ice or most shots faced. Luongo did return to the bench so he should be fine for the next start (in Montreal) but Schneider was outstanding in relief- came in cold and had to make some great saves, his puck tracking was perfect (something Luongo struggles with on occassion), it was as good a performance if not better than his other back to back shutouts last week.
Booth hit didnt look good at all, players were dropping like crazy in this game. Colorado's D wasnt great, but their overall team speed was impressive. - Larry

Its tough to fault him for his -10 when you look at some of his fellow teammates: Fowler (-13), Getzlaf (-11), Lydman (-11), Perry (-10), Ryan (-6), etc. - Ryan

Does anyone know where to find the official NHL definition for goalie Wins and Losses?

I've read that a loss happens if the goalie is on the ice for the GWG (In this case Iginla scored the winner on an empty netter)

I've also read that the starter is only off the hook if his team ties the game after he's pulled.. and that never happened either.

I get the logic that was applied, but I can't seem to find where it's written. - Edm

I know it was the big news yesterday, but it was driving me crazy thinking about what next year will bring. I am already tired of seeing one team 6 times, but now with the new playoff structure fans will be forced to watch a team (including playoffs) at least 10 times and if they get into the 2nd round another team 10 times. The rivalry will be good, but I think that is way too much. Had to get that off my chest... - Ryan Kimel

Great rambling today.

Very nice to see the TB brass with their panties in a bunch. (For the record, I'm a big Yzerman fan but...) Just goes to show, if you want to play pansy-hockey (stagnant 1-3-1) the media will publicly rip you. Tampa is now 3-8 since the the Philly game and 3rd last in the Eastern Conference. Yzerman and Tampa have likely been laughed at by the league and probably some of their own fans. This leaves the players feeling helpless and unmotivated... a bad, bad trickle down effect. The lack of effort is evidenced by four straight games now where Tampa has given up 30+ shots against. After getting ripped by OTT & NYI they've got upcoming games vs NYR and PHI.

Versus is also carrying the December 12th game against New Jersey, @ TB.

Uh oh Boucher... watch out for that axe!

Another game, another point for Adam Henrique. The kid has 18 points now in 23 games and that is after only posting one point in his first 5 games, Travis Zajac is going to have about one period to produce or Henrique will be right back between Parise and Kovulchuk. - Kevin

Leblanc and Kostitsyn

Leblanc was buried on the bench by Martin. Martin will ride his veterans to try to get the team out of that slump. They should send him back to Hamilton if they're playing him less than 5 minutes a game.

True to his Windex Wonder status, Andrei Kostitsyn is heating up right now. 4 pts in his last 5 since his return from injury. Could be interesting for anyone needing temporary scoring for an injury replacement. - Louis-Alexandre Jalbert

If a person really enjoys fantasy hockey, there isn't a better site to visit. Especially in the morning. Thanks.

Ward; The sooner he hits rock bottom the better. Any second now...
Belesky's 10 mins played scares me too much. I grabbed Foligno, nice run he's on.
David Clarkson had goal, 6 shots adn 4 hits.
Price had a strong home outing.
Bryan Little continued his scoring run. Nice to see a goal without Kane factoring in.
E.Kane and Lucic had 5 shots each.
Clutterbuck's had 2 shots, 2 blocked shots and 10 hits! I think he left with a sore leg?
Nashville only provide Rinne with 6 blocked shots last night.

It was Leblanc's first home game. He played all three on the West Coast trip thanks to Max Pacioretty's suspension. He recorded an assist in LA.

Also, Huselius played only 13 minutes because he got injured in the 2nd period and did not return. He was on pace for much more than that.

Finally, I thought DSP was junior bound as well, but not 100% sure about that. - lusshouse

I like DSP too, and I think he's steadily improving his game. He's been playing really well in the last few games.

Beleskey's linemates under Boudreau: first Koivu and Selanne, then Getzlaf and Perry. I don't know why, but Beleskey was benched for the whole third period against Kings and Hagman moved to the first line. The problem with Beleskey is that he has trouble finishing even in good situations.

Parros and Jacques were benched also and Guenin played only 2 shifts in the third. After those few games it seems like Boudreau likes to roll with only 3 lines in the third period.

The best line for the Ducks right now is definitely Ryan-Koivu-Selanne. - Lukasz
I like Devante Smith-Pelly. I like his future as a power forward. But at some point, the team has to take a look at his minus-10 and decide that he would be best served with a year in the AHL.
While he might be best served with a year in the AHL, his only options this year are NHL or juniors. So AHL is not an options for DSP this year. - Carcillo

Just guessing sarcastically here but I wonder what the Versus announcers could be saying that is negative about the Lightning? Certainly they couldn't point out their terrible group of defensemen or their subpar goaltending. And they definitely couldn't say anything bad about the brutally annoying system that has been put in place to cover up for those serious deficiencies. And don't even think for a second that they'd question the way that the Lightning system is sapping the offensive of one of the most talented groups of forwards in the NHL. No, they definitely couldn't say anything like that. - steve laidlaw
