Hey, Dean. I guess criticism comes with the territory. I think a lot of it came from one person and the rest of it came from my controversial stand on Filatov. I can't wait until the season starts to be vindicated. Thanks for the shoutout about Dekanich. He's an interesting goalie for sure. A nice guy to have if Mason continues his inconsistency. I'm off to the 2pm prospects game in Oshawa. I can't wait. - Stuart McDonald

Woooooo :) so glad I have this guy. I snagged him in my keeper league last summer after I saw his track record of stellar save percentages. I really do believe he is a special goalie who can be elite in the NHL.

He's got the skill and size and his age (25) is perfect for first yr in NHL... I guess his only question mark is his mental game and that is very important. But I'm not too worried about it. I've followed him enough to know he's got the right attitude to make it big for long-term. He's a very smart guy. Consider the fact that he chose to sign with Columbus (one way deal!!!) out of all teams. His thought was probably "okay which team has a starting goalie that I have the best chances of stealing the job from?"

No offense to Mason owners but I have my fingers crossed that Mason sh*ts the bed this year. - acfurino

Great Piece, Your Best Yet

Very good piece Stu, you're best yet. I know that you have received some heavy criticism recently with your articles (isn't it fun? haha) but I really really enjoyed this article.

I own Dekanich in two leagues as I have a ton of confidence in his skill set. Put him behind a mediocre Mason (and I feel he is just that - mediocre) and he's actually in my Top 5 Calder candidates. Columbus signed him to push Mason and I have a gut feeling that he's going to push Mason right to the back burner.

Good work. DY - Dean Youngblood
