This might benefit Backlund most of all as it eliminates Langkow who is one of those players who gets ice time regardless of how well he plays. If Morrison goes down, he'll have a clear shot at the #1 line. Hopefully he gets a decent chance at it. - DuklaNation

The problem with Calgarys roster- is they have 4 centers- all who at their peak are #2 centers... personally i see Morrison as their #1, then Jokinen- and then either Stajan and Backlund. maybe one of them moves to the wing on the 2nd line-but either way- not a whole lot of fantasy value their. - Larry

Darcy, under the current coaching staff, Langkow is definitely a top center. No, he doesn't have the offense any more, but that doesn't matter. He has the two-way acumen and veteran savvy, and that means that until Turris rounds out his two-way game - not his offense - Langkow will always be more trusted by this coaching staff, and therefore will get more and better minutes.

Hanzal is still their top 5-on-5 shutdown C, so he'll continue to be lined up against opposition's top lines, leaving Langkow by default with the top offensive duty. I wouldn't be surprised if they retain the MacLean-Turris-Boedker line which has had so much success in the A, using it for secondary scoring and energy in third line minutes (and perhaps as a 2 PP unit) at least to start the season.

Fiddler is no longer there. The player bumped off the center depth chart in PHX is Nokelainen, though he could line up on wing ont he fourth line as well.

Coyotes still have a winger or two they could shed, though, with 12 one-ways plus Turris, MacLean and Tikhonov (who is a KHL risk if he doesn't make it back on the team).

Besides, this move could bring Doan's youth back to him. After all, if he lines up with Langkow and Whitney, he's the spring chicken of the line ... - fzusher

The way I see it, the Coyotes have three equal lines in terms of ice time.

Turris, not Fiddler. My mistake. - Jeff Angus

If this doesn't affect Turris, then where is he on the lineup? As far as I'm concerned, Langkow is the #3 center. His offensive days are over and he will switch gears to being a checker. - Darcy S
