Hi Martin.

Tim is bang on not putting Colborne in the equation because he has only one year of AHL experience - he scored only 42 points. He's also a college player and they develop more slowly than junior players. Most importantly, however, Colborne is 6'5, 215 pounds and big guys always take longer to develop. I can remember how impatient Boston was with Joe Thornton and how patient Detroit was with Keith Primeau. When you are 6'3 or taller it just takes longer to adapt to the pro game. Colborne will be pencilled in for 40 NHL games in 2012-13 unless he really blows everyone's socks off next season. Good teams don't rush big players. They are too valuable. - Stuart McDonald
