@Darcy. Both are prospects and both need to fill out. Both have the frames to be 6'2, 205 - 210 which is what you want in an NHL'er. Part of the reason I called Avtsin a beanpole is that when I saw him play last year in the AHL (when he probably wasn't 198) he really looked ridiculously thin. Either way, anyone at 6,2 should be at LEAST 205 and probably heavier. - Stuart McDonald

I see this sometimes but dont understand it. How can Avtsin be a 6'2" 198 pound beanpole of a winger that needs to fill out, while Gauthier Leduc's 6'2" 195 pounds bodes him well as a defenseman?

He won't be back until he gets paid. It's tough for those guys. There is money on the table now in Russia and they can stay at home. Big Money always gets them over here. He's got two years to make the Kings before they'll lose him to the KHL. Here's hoping. - Stuart McDonald

Good article Stu.

Kitsyn has stated that he will return to the KHL next season instead of staying with the Majors. Definitely disappointing but I am sure he will be back....hopefully - Dean Youngblood

You and I are on the same page FRP. I'm a fan of Deslauriers' for two reasons: He's a d-men in the Q and they often get overlooked (I wrote an article on M.A. Gragnani two years ago) and secondly, Lombardi drafted him. If anyone can steal players after the 60th pick it's him. - Stuart McDonald

Sticking with those in the east, specifically the Q, I would add Nicolas Deslauriers, LA D prospect to that group. He too is an invitee to the WJC Development camp and also projectable size and offensive instincts. - First Round Pick
