great article and I am really stoked to have grabbed Smith off the wire. I really hadn't followed the story, as I am set in net (Bryzer/Quick) as is, but after reading the write-up and escpecially the goalie guild link within, I was scrambling to add this guy.
Thanks - loco man

Excellent write-up. Two thumbs up. 100% bang on with the comments about Neuvirth/Holtby. The only thing I could take any issue with is whether Elliott can take the back-up role in St. Louis, of which he's in for a real battle with Bishop. I'd put my money on Bishop at this point, it will be interesting to see how it plays out. Jake Allen had an outstanding first pro year in Peoria. How will he play in year two and how does that effect the guy who doesn't get the back-up job in St. Louis?

Another point worth mentioning about the situation in Colorado is the time spent in sick bay for both Varlamov and Giguere. Both have shown to be injury-prone goalies. Right now there appears to be a clear opening for the starting job in Lake Erie. There are a number of good goalies with a decent amount of pro experience who would be well advised to audition for that job because the potential for a re-call is high there. I know I will be watching who they sign for that role. - Brayden
