RE: Erat

I've always liked Erat, misses 10 games a year but is a consistent 50-55 point guy... A bit scared at the beginning of the season when he had 6 in the first 16, but then as always bounced back into the expected pace... I wouldn't be surprised to see 9-10 point outta the remaining 13 games...

Andy Mc, I wouldn't be surprised to see point-per-game if he can string together an 80 game season... Once he gets on a roll he really gets going... - Ryan Ma

RE: Reunited

I meant REUNITED with Kopitar along with Penner on the top-line... but you are right can't really be reunited since Penner was a new acquisition. Thanks for pointing that out.

You make a good point about it ALWAYS should be about that, but earlier in the season people still lean towards the past a bit more because they have a larger margin to wait it out for a turn around. If it's 2-3 weeks into the season, you still have 22-23 weeks to look for things to change. An example of that is Kovalchuk, people held onto him until mid-December based solely on what he had done in the past and the potential that he had for the rest of the 22-23 weeks...

At this point into a fantasy season all you really should care about is the rest of this week (H2H leagues anyways)... so there's a bigger emphasis on what the player will do for you in the future because the future is only 7 days, not 22-23 weeks. So I would be more prone to make impulsive moves quicker if a player is under performing the first couple of days of this week...

I'm a Zetterberg owner in one of my H2H leagues, and I would not hesitate to drop his ass if it comes to Friday and I'm locked in a close battle with my opponent where a few stats are still lying in the balance which might cause me to be ousted from the playoffs. I'd rather win with Zetterberg on the ww than lose with him on my squad...

So yes it should always be about the future, but during the regular season you have more leeway, in a 1 week H2H playoff the future is pretty much the next 7 days... - Ryan Ma

At ANY point of a season, it's ALWAYS about what a player will do, not what he has done.

Also, how could J.Williams be "reunited" with Penner if that reunion occurred two weeks ago? Before then, they weren't teammates. You can't be REunited unless you were united at some point previously. - John H.

Martin Erat, oh ya... boring, but consistent.
Andy Mac too - if only he could put together an 80-game season, could be a 70pt guy!
Great write-up! - Pengwin7
