>11. I am not going out on a limb here, but I would be very shocked to see a team other than Detroit, Vancouver, Boston, or Philadelphia win the cup. For those of you who are in pools that count playoff stats, time to stock up. I personally have never played in a regular season pool that counts playoff stats, and I can see how it complicates player values tremendously.

In both leagues I run, we have playoffs during real playoffs, so that "playoffability" of a player is always a big factor. And it can change instantly. For example, I have Ales Hemsky, who is doing great right now, but his playoffability is non-existent. Yet I am reluctant to trade him for a worse player from a better team, since he might be traded to a contender in the real world, and then his playoffability will surge... - Pavel Nikiforovitch

1. You are spot-on with Grabner and why he has flourished with the Isles and not with Vancouver and Florida. It seems like that happens to a lot of great offensive talents who aren't highly anticipated lottery picks- they're not valued enough to be allowed to step right into a top-six role, but they don't really do anything else all that well, either, and thus end up in limbo.

2. I have to disagree with you slightly on Dustin Brown. I think he is a very good all-around player, but he is not a first-line winger because of his hands. His outstanding speed and tenacity gets him tons of chances but his lack of hands keeps him a 25-30 goal scorer. If his hands did match his other attributes (speed, physicality, etc.), he would be as good as Ovechkin. As it stands he's a damned good hockey player in more of an offensive role than he should be because the Kings just don't have any legit 1st-line talent at forward outside of Kopitar.

3. I think it would be a mistake for Atlanta to 'sell low' on Bogosian. Also, looking at recent cup winners like the Red Wings and Blackhawks, you can never have too much talent on the blue line. He's similar to Jack Johnson and the Thrash should so similar patience with Bogo that the Kings have with JJ, because it will pay off eventually. - Isle B.

Well done Angus. Great read as always.

Grabner's recent HOT streak (understatement) has me thinking....what is this kids' upside? Clearly he isn't a playmaker but I wonder what his upside is. - Dean Youngblood
