I respect that the writer of the article says:

Chris Burns wrote:
"Just Wait I had to throw this together last minute .... once I'm writing with a week of thought behind it, you will all be pleased "
_______________________________________________________________________________

And just like to add, from a fantasy perspective you pretty much hit the nail right on the head. I sold off Lecavalier + Brodeur very early this season. Just omit the unnecessary speculation of "passion is gone" and you're good. Fantasy hockey doesn't dictate a players "passion."

Thought he's been overvalued since the beginning of last year, and people thought I was nuts.

Now he strings together some "hard skating" games and all of a sudden I'm supposed to feel inspired? Please...

Last I checked, "passion" wasn't a scoring cat in my league. - Bomm Bastic

I agree with the Hitman's point about Vinny. Clearly he's not putting up points as he once did, but I don't think the passion is gone. As mentioned, he has been playing with a lot of passion and energy since returning, he's just not scoring. The cause likely has more to do with not being the 'go-to' guy in Tampa with Stamkos around and lingering injuries.
If you want a 100 point player you'll be disappointed, but I think he's still a 70-80 point guy. - Tom

You saved me from proving that The Hockey Hitman has no clue. As the article mentions ... this is about guys WHO WERE top 20 picks and no longer warrant that. Guy Boucher has no choice but to "rave" about a 10 million dollar bust. I think you should do yourself a favor and try to get over your man crush on Vinny ... go with Stamkos ... he's waaay cuter. Perhaps my next article will be titled "10 Reasons That Tampa Bay Doesn't Deserve An NHL Team" - Chris Burns

I don't know if Lecavalier is related to you or if you're possibly even Vinny himself trying to defend his place among the Fantasy Studs but I think you're a little hard on Burnsy.
Burnsy is correct....Lecavalier is not relevant fantasy wise. A guy can be valuable in the NHL and still be a fantasy letdown. This article is on fantasy hockey. Unless your pool rewards points for mentoring younger players, your argument is way off base.

P.S. This brilliant and inspiring play of Lecavalier's you're raving about since his injury? He has 12 points in 17 games and is a -8.
(Shaking my head) Fan Boy. - Mr. Ben

The Writer of this article obviously has not been watching Vinny Lecavalier play since returning from his hand injury this season. Vinny is clearly playing some of his most passionate hockey we've seen from him in years. Coach Guy Boucher has been raving about him, his two way play and the example hes setting for younger players.

To say "his passion is gone" is a clear indicator that you are only examining stats/production. Simply put, you didn't do the proper research you should have before including him this piece. While Vinny will probably never put up another 90 or 100 pt season, thats not news to anyone, and hes long-lost his value as a top 10 or so scorer in fantasy leagues. But hes been playing with renewed vigor and determination which you'd known if you actually watch him play.

Do yourself a favor and research a little more, maybe actually watch the games of the players you're telling people to sell off on, before you write your next article. Peace. - The Hockey Hitman

I think Iggie can get it back..just not in Calgary as you say. If he went to a team with young talent he could use his skills again without the added pressure of being the only offensive weapon available.....but yea he needs some old fashion motivation to make it work - mike hess

In Iggy's defense, the Flames are 14th in the West. The only team below them is Edmonton.

Yet only 5 RW-eligible players in Yahoo! pools have more goals than Iggy. And only 8 RW-eligible players have more assists.

Iggy could realistically finish in the top 5 for each stat, despite playing for an absolute bottom feeder. If that falls below your expectations, then they were far too high to begin with... - D M

Burnsy.. you peaked at the 'White Crayon' column.. it was that sort of cutting edge stuff that had me tuned in..
this is the type of stuff I can get by sorting the stats on the NHL website...
It's like watching Brett Favre come out again and again.. at some point you forget he was great and just feel sorry for him..
Go out on an edge.. create some stir..
You haven't been the same since Burke handed you your ass in the infamous Johnston Beach 3 way standoff..

Your better than this man...

I agree with all these.

Been saying it to myself for about a year now.
Glad to see someone has a little balls to state what to me in a no brainer.

Spezza is a tin man, nothing more.
Never has been.
Alot of denial about him out there. - Tim Kozlow

Most guys i'm with you but I strongly disagree about Spezza...guy came back last year around this same time from an injury afte slumping miserably on to score a point-per-game+ to finish the season...Ottawa as a whole this season has been awful across the board from Spezza, to Gonchar, to Alfie, to their netminding so I wouldn't single out Spezza in that regard as it's been that whole team as a unit...I expect Spezza unlike some of these other guys to comeback and finish strong on his own end so I wouldn't advocate people abandon ship on him right now - MT319
