Bobkov vs Ryan Ellis

It was Ryan Ellis not Matt, GOd help us all if Matt Ellis is on Team Canada! Im not sold on Roy yet, was hoping to see Visentin as I know very little of him. As for Campbell, the US coaches last year named Lee their starter-only to see him falter, how Campbell reacts (vs top competition) as the clear cut starter will be interesting, especially considering that he hasnt been playing well so far this year. - Larry

Played a very good game. Made alot of key saves. I thought he seemed controlled even at times of desperation. Looking forward to see what he does in his next start. - derek

LOL I check the IIHF website for rosters ... Mrazek is not even on the Czech entry roster - they have three goalies, and the third is a kid from Saginaw (Tadeus something). The Russians have Sadikov on their entry roster, but their team analysis on hockeysfuture suggested the other three goalies are ahead of him in the depth chart ...

Volden did not start against the Czechs today ... - fzusher

"The biggest key to a goalie’s success in the World Junior Championships is making the first few saves in their first game."

Basically said the same thing in the recent so-called "doozy" of an article about Steve Mason. When he makes saves early, he gains confidence. When he doesn't, he loses confidence. Isn't that how it works with most goalies?

Starting to think that when you've read one Goldman column, you've read them all.

The Norway vs. Sweden game was not televised on NHL Network here in the States, so unfortunately I was unable to scout that game. I am hoping to catch him at least once during this tournament. Thanks for the heads up on Mrazek and Sadikov. I was going off the original rosters posted on TSN (each team had three goalies listed and I know teams only carry two) so I removed the last line about them LOL. - Justin Goldman

Volden?

Justin, what's your take on Norway's Lars Volden after yesterday's game? He gave up the 7 to Sweden, but also made 39 saves. Was he that bad, or just left to dry by his team? [I drafted him low in a keeper that allows you to draft players who were eligible for the NHL draft even if they didn't get drafted].

BTW, I think Mrazek and Sadikov are not in their teams' official roster lists. - fzusher
