Last week I traded Rick for Tyler Myers... which allowed me to drop Kris Russell and add Richard Bachman to my future... I think I ran away like a Bandit!

I have always valued DiPietro's skill level and feel if healthy he is one of the Elite goalies in the NHL... problem is he is rarely healthy (thust I took the safe bet on the trade)... NYI are in the same situation now as they were 5-6 years ago, and Rick and all thier other goalies continue to bail this bad team out, "Imagine, If you can..." (stealing this line from John Lennon) that this team gets some defence!

Also I'll 2nd that hoping for a wrong outlook on Varlamov (owning him, Lehtonen and to a very lesser extent Niemi allowed me to make the moves I said above)... only cause I own him... Other than that if the outlook is right I'll get 20-25 wins in those 35 games and a GAA around 2.50 and SV% above .910... If it is wrong... I'll Either get like 30ish wins in 45 games... or alot less wins in alot less games lol

Anyway nice artical Justin! - Jason Banks

I never said not to start Pavelec or that he was going to struggle ... I just said be warned. Colorado scores a ton of goals at home. Stewart is out for 4-6 weeks so that's a huge blow but they are still a very fast team. I will be at that game and watching closely of course!! I think most people know I've been pumping up Pavs since the summer. If he plays well it's even more proof of his awesome value. - Justin Goldman

I think Pavelec and the thrashers in general will suprise you this week....it's not jsut Pavelec carrying that team with his sound play but that entire squad in general coming out hard night in night out as a unit, putting up solid goal support, and by extension placing themselves in a position to win each game to where they know they can beat any team on any given night..I expect plenty ofthe same going forward. DiPietro I respect the faith in him and also echo similar sentiments but will be hard pressed with the Isles feckless offense to put up much in the W's column but his Sv% and to a good extent his GAA should make him a worthwhile netminder option in non-shallow..non-win heavy formats - Michael

Pavelec just beat Detroit, shut-out Mtl and took care of Boston, why couldnt he beat Pitt, Wash and Col ???? .......... I think he is getting back that confidence that sometimes goalies lose after their 1st big Pro season ( AHL-Chicago), everything seemed to go downhill from there for him . Lehtonen gets hurt early in Atl , him being called up to a weak Thrashers team.... I think really hurt his confidence, but now he sure looks like the goalie that i remembered of him in Cape Breton in his Rookie season , so tough to beat glove side. - Rob Verhelle

I hope your wrong

Short-term projection: Plays all three games this week despite the back-to-back and goes 2-1-0 with a .915 save percentage.

Long-term projection: Proves his streaky style by still playing fewer games than Neuvirth and backing him up in the playoffs. - Ballsakic

I'm in need of a goaltender with only Vokoun and with Varlamov just coming back. I was offered Bobrovsky for Drew Doughty and Matt Moulson. This team also has Fluery and Ryan Miller who he won't trade. Would you counter with Doughty for Marc Andre? or should I just sit tight and hope Varly gets more action going forward?

thanks - Mario DiGesaro
