He was drafted by Moncton, not Lewiston. He was just traded to Lewiston a couple of weeks ago for a goalie and a pile of picks because he was a cancer on the team. No one in Moncton wanted him here, but most fans were amazed we were able to get anything useful for him. I wish no one ill fortune, but this guy will never be a useful NHL player until he grows up - by then it will likely be too late. He will be lucky to be a career KHLer as he has even ticked the Russians off (cut from their national team last year due to his behaviours). - nblobstr

Pretty cool that you think that Yakupov is a contender for the 2012 1st overall pick. I have watched him a lot this season and he's one of (if not THE) most exciting OHL player I have watched in a very long time.

As a Sarnia Sting fan, I hope he continues doing well.

Wasn't he drafted by the Thrashers (not the Caps)? - KK

thanks as always, Alessandro. I appreciate these updates. I'm getting pretty excited about Yakupov and am looking forward to seeing what Kabanov can do for Lewiston.

Any updates/news on Grigorenko? In your opinion, does Grigorenko have higher upside than Yakupov? I won't bother asking you which player you think is more likely go first earlier in the draft, because I think (fairly or not) that Yakupov has the upper hand playing in North America. - SeaDawg
