Another thing to keep in mind with both the Pens and Isles early stats is the significant amount of penalties being called in games involving these teams. Pittsburgh has nearly a 20% edge in PP opps to the Islanders who are second in the league coming into tonight's games.

To put that figure into perspective, there was a 20% disparity between the first (Carolina) and last place (Montreal) teams given power play opps in the entire 2009 season. The Penguins have been bestowed with 5 home games and a fleetload of calls going their way to open up 2010, that trend won't continue. - Leo Racicot

Goli, Pens D

When looking at icetime for Pens D so far, be mindful of the fact that Orpik and Michalek are both out right now. Hutchinson and Engelland are playing right now as 5/6. Trust me Bylsma keeps them on the bench as much as possible. Icetime for all of the guys will drop some when those two return (less than a month barring set backs), but Goligoski's will dip the most. He is the #5 D. Letang and Martin play together as well as Orpik and Michalek. If those pairings are broken up it will be for those same four guys to be arranged differently. When fully healthy, don't expect the icetime to remain so high for Goligoski. That said, he'll still be plenty productive. - Kraftster
