Funny you should mention LA's player development - I agree completely. I remember reading about Dean Lombardi criticizing U of Michigan for their lack of developing players (re: Jack Johnson). Might be a little hypocritical?

Just a hunch, but I don't think Purcell will excel this season, but with a good camp, who knows? - Russ</description>

			<description>Purcell will probably be on a short leash in TB as well. Unless, Stevie Y can help steer Purcell's talents in the right direction. If Yzerman can't do that who can? If not well Purcell would not be the first player to excell at the AHL level then flounder in the NHL. Sort of reminds me on what has happened to another ex-LA player Brian Boyle. He did well in his last full season in the AHL then rides the pine in LA before being traded to the Rangers. Seeing as both Purcell &amp; Boyle came out of LA's farm system perhaps the attention to player development needs some tweaking there too.  - Corey Peltz</description>
