Couldnt agree more on the assessment of the COL-SJ game, I'm envious that you were there. I didnt catch the first period, but couldnt stop watching from the minute I flipped to the game early in the second. Anderson was flat out sensational. And what I noticed as the game went on was that any time there was a skirmish in front after a whistle or he was run by one of the SJ forwards - there was zero reaction from him. He would calmly skate away and just stay in that zone. I bet nobody even talked to him in the dressing room during the second or third intermission - sort of how a pitcher sits alone on the other end of the bench in the late innings of a no-hitter. The ovation the crowd gave him at the end of the game could have lasted half an hour and even then wouldn't have done his effort justice. - blammo

Anderson

Anderson was sensational yesterday, but remember people that Andy's best game total in a season prior to this season was 59 games in junior hockey. He has now reached 74 games in 2009-10, and while he was fantastic yesterday he will likely be subject to a bad game in the next couple of games. The Avs hope it will be in the second round, while the Sharks hope it will be the 4th game in Colorado. - Fred Poulin

I would also like to duly note Evgeni Nabokov's performance in Game 3, especially in the first period. Similar to Anderson, he was very aggressive in the first period and that allowed him to play with confidence and make some MASSIVE saves.

I spent a lot of time thinking about this game. It was seriously the picture-perfect game to scout. On one end you had a goalie under serious mental pressure. That was Nabokov, as he had been fighting the puck in the first two games and only faced a few scoring chances in the second and third period. But they were GOOD scoring chances and each time, Nabby was there.

On the other end you had a goalie under serious physical pressure. Shot after shot after distraction after grueling sequence, Anderson was under rapid fire in the second and third period. He basically played a full game in the second period and a full game in the third period. It was ... RIDICULOUS. - Justin Goldman
