Same kind of story. Up by two points going into the final day, my biggest guns Kopitar, Stewart and Stastny pile up goose-eggs while Parise gets an empty net assist and the Penguins allow Okposo to get 3 pts and Moulson 1 after shutting their defense down... Still no complaints as I won my other two pools, but to be so close to the holy grail - a perfect fantasy season - will haunt me for ages.:D - First Round Pick

So I wasn't the only one. I had Backstrom, Frolik, and Perry playing on that dreaded Sunday. The leader, up by 2pts going in, had only Briere. We know the results. I couldn't believe Perry had only 1pt in a 7 goal effort! - Sergio Leone

besides the BEDMAS reference (that's like admitting you're fluent in BASIC!)

you scored an 888! that's a fairly good SAT score, or a winning hand @ poker! - Man Not Puck

this made me laugh repeatedly. Lemon - you write some funny stuff --> maybe not for some but ILMAO.

So many times I wonder who these mystery people are who pick perfect one year pools. I'd like to think I get beat by Scotty Bowman too, but it's probably some housewife from Kalamazoo, Mich. (really its some more-obsessed-than-me person who probably is runnning a half dozen pools to my 2)

Really, it's all about competition though. Everyone wants to be Pack Leader. 4th of thousands is still very respectable...:) - Man Not Puck

Brent sorry to hear about your 4th place. I too was a victim of the final week. I was 2 days away from a three-peat and lost 57 pts in the last 2 weeks. But that is fantasy hockey and what keeps us coming back. 4th in the nation is still worth bragging rights. - Marcus

I too had a vested interest in that game Lemon. I'd been leading our hometown Jr. hockey team's pool for the past 3 weeks. 1st prize was $1000. Going into the final day with a 3 point lead, Ovechkin and Backstrom went pointless and R. Miller didn't play, while for my opponent, Vanek scored a day after his 4-goal game and Brodeur won in reg. on a cheap empty-netter. So I was down by 1 going into that game needing Niedermayer to get 1 pt (to tie) or 2 pts (to win)......
.... 7 goals later, Nieds was +4 with no points in a points-only league. Leaving me in 2nd. The Niedermayer name is mud to me now. - slufoot
