I'd been leading our hometown Jr. hockey team's pool for the past 3 weeks. 1st prize was $1000. Going into the final day with a 3 point lead, Ovechkin and Backstrom went pointless and R. Miller didn't play, while for my opponent, Vanek scored a day after his 4-goal game and Brodeur won in reg. on a cheap empty-netter. So I was down by 1 going into that game needing Niedermayer to get 1 pt (to tie) or 2 pts (to win)...... .... 7 goals later, Nieds was +4 with no points in a points-only league. Leaving me in 2nd.
