Cullen has bounced around the NHL for a very long time, without ever really securing himself a top 6 position. He found PP time, but seemed to miss out on the ordinary respect that a fellow strives so hard to achieve. JP Dumont finally found the opportunity he required when he got to Nashville. Brad Boyes when he got to St. Louis. Markus Naslund when he got to Vancouver. Craig Conroy when he went to Calgary... There are quite a few examples. Cullen may be an interesting pickup, as he is potentially a similar guy. Oh, for the opportunity to play 20 minutes a night and step on the ice the moment the PP fires up! Wonder if there is a career year in the offing! (not to be confused with a major impact guy) - Jocular Hockey Manager

Picard was now the odd men out of the roster. This will not have any effect on Karlsson play. As for Lee, I agree that he improved of one spot, but he’s still 7th or 8th in the chart. In fact, he’s not in Ottawa’s plan as few young guys will pass in front of him next year… - All-in

Picard going might open door for larger role for Karlsson (not that he needed it) and perhaps Brian Lee? - STONE.
